3、ts. These units are manufactured using a wet cast concretemixture and finished to simulate stone, rocks found in nature, and other textures.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers the minimum product require-ments for adhered manufactured stone masonry veneer(AMSMV) units applied as an adhered veneer

4、to exterior andinterior walls and structures suitable to receive AMSMV units.1.2 The property requirements of this specification apply atthe time of delivery. This standard does not address thephysical evaluation of installed AMSMV units removed fromservice.1.3 The AMSMV units described by this spec

5、ification aremanufactured from a mixture of cement, normal or lightweightaggregates (or a combination of both), water, admixtures, othercementitious materials and other components which are wet-cast into shapes simulating the appearance of natural stone andother textures.1.4 The values stated in inc

6、h-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.5 The text of this specification references notes andfootnotes which provide explanatory material. 20、ther Constituents:4.7.1 Other constituent materials shall be shown by test ofexperience or history of performance under equivalent condi-tions not to be detrimental to the durability of the AMSMVunit, or AMSMV construction, or both.5. Sampling5.1 Concrete Mix for AMSMV UnitsFrom each manufac-turing

21、location, obtain representative samples from standardproduction of each concrete mix used for AMSMV units inaccordance with 5.2.5.1.1 Sample and test the concrete mixes used for AMSMVunits no more than twelve months prior to production of units.More frequent testing shall be required if there is any

22、 changein the manufacturing process including changes in cementi-tious materials or their sources, aggregates or their sources,volume of water, mix design, manufacturing process or curing.This does not include producing units of varying shapes,configurations or sizes of units.5.2 Sample the concrete

23、 mix at the manufacturing facilityfrom standard production mix in accordance with PracticeC31/C31M; with the following exceptions:5.2.1 For compressive strength testing prepare five 4 in.diameter by 8 in. (100 mm by 200 mm) cylinders in accordancewith Practice C192/C192M and test in accordance with

24、6.1.Donot disturb the curing cylinders for a minimum of 48 hoursafter casting. De-mold them at an age of seven days.5.2.2 For freeze/thaw durability testing, prepare five 3 in. by3 in. by 11 in. beams in accordance with Section 7 of PracticeC192/C192M.5.2.2.1 The molded beams shall be de-molded 24-3

25、2 hoursafter casting.5.2.2.2 The molded beams shall be air cured for 28 days.5.3 AMSMV UnitsFrom each manufacturing location, ob-tain a minimum of eight (8) samples totaling at least 5 ft2(0.46m2) of AMSMV units that are representative of the AMSMVunit profile from which they are selected, using the

26、 samecementitious materials, aggregates, mix design, manufacturingprocess and curing.5.3.1 Sampling and testing should be performed at leastannually to meet the requirements of this standard.6. Physical Properties and Testing Requirements ofAMSMV Unit Concrete Mix6.1 Compressive Strength:6.1.1 Test

27、specimens at an age of 28 days in accordancewith Test Method C39/C39M.6.1.1.1 The average compressive strength of five specimensshall be a minimum of 2100 psi (15 MPa) with no individualspecimen having a measured compressive strength less than1800 psi (12 MPa).6.2 Resistance to Freezing and Thawing:

28、6.2.1 No single specimen in a group of five specimens shallexhibit a mass loss greater than 1.5 % or show any fracturecompletely through the cross section when tested in accordancewith Test Method C666/C666M, ProcedureA, with the follow-ing modifications:6.2.1.1 The molded beams are subjected to 50

29、consecutivecycles of freezing and thawing.6.2.2 Determine mass loss in accordance with the followingprocedure:6.2.2.1 Following immersion in water for a period of 48hours, the initial specimen mass shall be measured. ExcessC1670 132surface water shall be immediately removed by blotting withdamp clot

30、h or fabric towel prior to mass measurement;6.2.2.2 Following the completion of 50 freeze thaw cyclesin accordance with Test Method C666/C666MProcedure A,the specimens shall be removed from the containers and excesssurface water shall be removed by blotting with damp cloth orfabric towel;6.2.2.3 The

31、 Percent Mass Loss (PWL) for each specimenshall be determined at 50 cycles and be calculated as follows:PWL beam!,%5 M02 M1!M0# 3100where:PWL (beam) = percent mass loss of beamM0= initial mass of beam following 48 hoursaturationM1= final mass of beam following 50 freeze/thawcycles6.2.2.4 Any test sp

32、ecimen which fractures completelythrough the cross section into two or more discrete sectionsshall be recorded as a failure.6.2.3 In the case of specimen failure under 6.2.2.4, thefailure mode must be reported in detail.NOTE 1Freeze-thaw testing is conducted on prism samples cast fromrepresentative

33、concrete mix designs. While each manufacturer takesprecautions to ensure that the surface color is durable, this freeze-thawtesting does not include a colored prism sample.7. Physical Properties and Testing Requirements ofAMSMV Units7.1 Dimensions:7.1.1 AMSMV units shall have a minimum thickness of1

34、4in. (6 mm) except those parts of a unit within 0.5 in. (13 mm)of the unit perimeter.7.1.2 The average thickness2of each AMSMV unit shall beless than or equal to 258 in. (67 mm).7.1.3 AMSMV units shall not exceed 36 in. (914 mm) inany face dimension and shall not exceed more than 5 ft2(0.46m2) in to

35、tal face area.7.2 Shear Bond Strength:7.2.1 Each unit tested shall develop a shear bond strengthwith the mortar substrate of not less than 50 psi (350 kPa) whentested in accordance with Test Method C482 with the followingmodifications (listed in 7.2.1.1 through 7.2.1.5):7.2.1.1 Test a minimum of fiv

36、e (5) AMSMV units at aminimum age of 28 days after manufacture.7.2.1.2 Use the mortar substrate for non-vitreous tile (waterabsorption greater than 7 %).7.2.1.3 Use an AMSMV unit that can be cut into a samplewith minimum dimensions of 214 in. by 214 in. (57 mm by 57mm) and maximum dimensions of 4 in

37、. by 4 in. (100 mm by100 mm), with a thickness no greater than 258 in. (70 mm).This sample is to be cut containing the back pattern of the unitthroughout the entire back face.7.2.1.4 Use a12 in. (12 mm) by12 in. (12 mm) steel bar (inplace of the key) whose length shall be sufficient to reach theoute

38、r edges of the sample unit across its length. The steel barshall be placed adjacent and parallel to the sample mortarinterface.7.2.1.5 Evaluate shear bond results of actual bonding sur-face of AMSMV unit as manufactured. If the back surface ofthe AMSMV unit used for testing has a directional backpat

39、tern, this back pattern shall be parallel to the direction ofloading.7.3 Absorption:7.3.1 At a minimum age of 28 days after manufacture,average absorption of three units shall be tested in accordancewith Test Methods C140. For the purposes of consistency, theresults for any one unit shall not vary b

40、y more than 10 % fromthe average for all units.AMSMV units shall be permitted to becut with a saw if the testing facility cannot accommodate afull-sized unit.7.4 Density:7.4.1 The saturated density of the AMSMV units shall bedetermined from the weights obtained during absorption test-ing (in accorda

41、nce with Test Methods C140 and 7.3.1) usingthe following calculation:Saturated Density, lb/ft3,Ws!Ws2 Wi! 362.4where:Ws= saturated weight of specimen, lbWi= immersed weight of specimen, lb7.4.2 The weight per square foot of the AMSMV unit shallbe determined by multiplying the saturated density of th

42、e unitby the average thickness, and shall not exceed 15 lb/ft2.7.5 Linear Drying Shrinkage:7.5.1 At the time of delivery to the purchaser, the linearshrinkage of the specimen sample shall not exceed 0.065 %when tested in accordance with Test Method C426.8. Finish and Appearance8.1 The finish and app

43、earance requirements shall apply tounits at the time of delivery to the jobsite and acceptance by thepurchaser.8.2 Units shall not show defects, deficiencies or protrusionson any surface that interfere with installation or significantlyimpair the performance of the construction.8.3 Unit profile name

44、s, color range and textures of the unitsshall be specified by the purchaser. The finished faces shallconform to approved samples representing the range of tex-tures and colors selected.NOTE 2An approved sample typically consists of manufacturerssamples, individual units, or field mock-ups when speci

45、fied.8.4 Finished faces shall not have any chips with a dimensionexceeding 0.75 in. (19 mm) or an aggregate length of chips thatexceed 10 % of the perimeter of the finished face of the unit.8.5 Finished faces of the unit shall not contain cracks,crazing, scuffing, or other imperfections that detract

46、 from theappearance of the designated area when viewed from a distanceof 20 ft (6 m) under diffused lighting.2Annex A1 contains one method for determining average thickness.C1670 1338.6 A shipment shall not contain more than5%ofunits,including broken units, that do not meet the requirements of8.2, 8

47、.3, 8.4, and 8.5.NOTE 3Many broken units are usable during installation. AMSMVunits are commonly broken or saw-cut by the installer to fit into particularareas of the construction.9. Product Identification and Packaging9.1 Each package shall identify the manufacturers name,profile name, location of

48、manufacture, minimum quantitycontained, and statement of product conformity to this speci-fication.10. Reporting10.1 A complete report with testing completed withintwelve (12) months of manufacture of units, consisting of thefollowing shall be made available upon request:10.1.1 Sampling information.

49、10.1.2 Date, time, and name of individual molding orselecting specimens for test or both.10.1.3 Density as determined in 7.4.10.1.4 The weight per sq. ft. ofAMSMV unit as determinedin 7.4.10.1.5 The maximum compressive load imposed on eachsample along with the compressive strength in pounds persquare inch as determined in 6.1.10.1.6 The maximum load and shear bond strength asdetermined in 7.2.10.1.6.1 Dimensions (maximum and minimum values), in-cluding average thickness of the test sample.10.1.6.2 The location of failure of each specimen;
