Scope1.1 This specification covers the materials and testing ofshielded hubless couplings to join hubless cast iron soil pi
3、peand fittings.1.2 Several different types of hubless couplings are avail-able for use in hubless cast iron sanitary and storm drain, wasteand vent piping applications to connect hubless cast iron soilpipe and fittings by using a sleeve-type, or some other typecoupling device. It is the purpose of t
4、his specification to furnishinformation as to the characteristics of one such sleeve typecouplings when applied to cast iron soil pipe and fittingsmanufactured in accordance with Specification A 888, latestrevision, and CISPI-301, latest revision.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be r
5、egardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.4 The committee with jurisdiction over this standard isaware of other comparable standard published by the Cast IronSoil Pipe Institute,
6、 CISPI-310, FM 1680 published by FactoryMutual, and Specification C 1540 published by ASTM.1.5 The following precautionary caveat pertains only to thetest method portion, Section 7, of this specification. Clamp Assembly Requirements6.1 The shield and clamp assembly shall be made ofmaterial conforming to the requirements as outlined in Section6, Table 3 and
