1、Designation: B 85/B 85M 08Standard Specification forAluminum-Alloy Die Castings1This standard is issued under the fixed designation B 85/B 85M; the number immediately following the designation indicates the yearof original adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in
2、parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the Department of Defense.1. Scope*1.1 This specification covers aluminum-alloy die castings ofall com
3、positions. Thirteen of the most commonly die cast alloycompositions are specified, designated as shown in Table 1.1.2 This specification is not intended for aluminum-alloydie castings used in aerospace applications.1.3 Alloy and temper designations are in accordance withANSI H35.1/H35.1(M). The equi
4、valent unified numberingsystem alloy designations are in accordance with PracticeE 527.1.4 Unless the order specifies the “M” specification desig-nation, the material shall be furnished to the inch-pound units.1.5 For acceptance criteria for inclusion of new aluminumand aluminum alloys and their pro
5、perties in this specification,see Annex A1 and Annex A2.1.6 UnitsThe values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. Thevalues stated in each system may not be exact equivalents;therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other.Combining
6、values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.1.7 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determi
