6、neral Requirement3.1 Material furnished under this specification shall con-form to the applicable requirements of Specification B 829unless otherwise provided herein.4. Ordering Information4.1 It is the responsibility of the purchaser to specify allrequirements that are necessary for material ordere

Examples of such requirements include but arenot limited to the following:4.1.1 Alloy name or UNS number.4.1.2 ASTM designation and year of issue.4.1.3 Quantity (feet or number of pieces).4.1.4 Dimensions:4.1.4.1 Pipe size.4.1.4.2 Tube dimensions (outside or inside diamete

8、r andnominal wall thickness).4.1.4.3 Length (specific or random).4.1.5 Hydrostatic Test or Nondestructive Electric TestSpecify type of test (see 5.2).4.1.6 CertificationState if certification is required.4.1.7 Samples for Product (Check) AnalysisState whethersamples for product (check) analysis shou

9、ld be furnished.4.1.8 Purchaser InspectionIf purchaser wishes to witnesstests or inspection of material at place of manufacture, thepurchase order must so state indicating which tests or inspec-tions are to be witnessed.5. Mechanical and Other Requirements5.1 Tension TestThe mechanical properties of

10、 the materialat room temperature shall conform to those shown in Table 1.The sampling and specimen preparation are covered in Speci-fication B 829.5.2 Hydrostatic or Nondestructive Electric TestEach pipeor tube shall be subjected to either the hydrostatic test or to thenondestructive electric test.

11、The type of test to be used shall beat the option of the manufacturer, unless otherwise specified inthe purchase order.6. Dimensions and Permissible Variations6.1 The requirements of Specification B 829 will applyexcept for hot-finished pipe and tube dimensional requirementsshown in Table 2.1This sp

Chemical Requirements7.1 The material shall conform to the requirements as tochemical composition specified in Table 3. One test is requiredfor each lot as defined in

16、Specification B 829.7.2 If a product (check) analysis is performed by thepurchaser, the material shall conform to the product (check)analysis variations in Table 3 of Specification B 829.8. Number of Tests8.1 Chemical AnalysisOne test per lot.8.2 Tension TestOne longitudinal tension test shall bemad

17、e on a specimen from a pipe or tube representing 1 % ofthe pipe or tube for each lot.8.3 Hydrostatic or Nondestructive Electric TestEachlength of pipe or tube.9. Test Methods9.1 Hydrostatic TestThe allowable fiber stress for hydro-static testing purposes shall be 17 500 psi.9.1.1 Any pipe or tube th

18、at shows leaks during hydrostatictesting shall be rejected, but any leaking areas may be cut outand the pipe or tube retested as above.9.2 Nondestructive Electric TestEach pipe or tube shall beexamined with a nondestructive electric test as per prescribedin Specification B 829.10.
