The temperdesignations are classified by the process or processes used inmanufacturing the product involved and its resulting proper-ties. It is not a specification of copper and copper alloys.1.2 The property requirements for the temp
4、ers are given inthe applicable product specification.1.3 This international standard was developed in accor-dance with internationally recognized principles on standard-ization established in the Decision on Principles for theDevelopment of International Standards, Guides and Recom-mendations issued

6、his classification establishes an alphanu-meric code of the tempers of copper and copper alloy products.4.2 UseAn alphanumeric code establishes a system bywhich product tempers in specifications and published data aredesignated.4.2.1 The letters in the code identify the type of processused to produc
7、e the product temper. For example, “H” indi-cates a temper resulting from cold working.NOTE 1These letters are frequently the same as those used in tempersystems of other metal products.NOTE 2Undefined letters, used in prior temper systems and includedin this system for reference, are defined in App

Classification of Tempers5.1 Annealed Tempers, OTempers produced by annealingto meet mechanical property requirements.5.2 Annealed Tempers, with Grain Size Prescribed, OSTempers produced by annealing to meet standard or specialgrain size requirements.5.3 As-Manufactured Tempers, MTempers
9、 produced inthe product by the primary manufacturing operations ofcasting, or casting and hot working, and controlled by themethods employed in the operations.5.4 Cold-Worked Tempers, HTempers produced by con-trolled amounts of cold work, by manufacturing process, or byuse.5.5 Cold-Worked (Drawn), a
10、nd Stress-Relieved Tempers,HRTempers produced by controlled amounts of cold workfollowed by stress relief.5.5.1 Order-Strengthening Tempers, HTTempers pro-duced by controlled amounts of cold work followed by athermal treatment to produce order strengthening.5.5.2 End Annealed Temper, HETemper produc
11、ed by coldwork followed by anneal of the ends of the product.5.6 Heat-Treated Tempers, TTempers that are based onsolution heat treatments followed by rapid cooling, with orwithout subsequent cold working or thermal treatments.5.6.1 Quench-Hardened Tempers, TQTempers producedby quench-hardening treat
