Terminology4.1 Definitions:4.1.1 For definitions of terms related to copper and copperalloys, refer to Terminology B 846.4.1.2 extrusion, na uniform metal shape,

Ordering Information5.1 Include the following information in orders for prod-ucts:5.1.1 ASTM designation and year of issue,5.1.
15、2 Quantity: number of pieces or pounds,5.1.3 Copper Alloy UNS No. (Section 1),5.1.4 Temper (Section 8) or condition (Section 12),5.1.5 Drawing showing the shape, dimensions, and toler-ances, if required,5.1.6 If an extrusion: the length (or mass) required, straight-ness as required,5.2 The following
16、 are options and should be included in thecontract or purchase order, when required:5.2.1 Tension tests (Section 11),5.2.2 Special tests such as grain size,5.2.3 Finish (see Section 15),5.2.4 Grain size (see Section 9), and5.2.5 When material is ordered for agencies of the U.S.government.6. Material
17、 and Manufacture6.1 Material:6.1.1 The material of manufacture shall be cast or wroughtbillet of C17000 or C17200 of such purity and soundness as tobe suitable for processing into the products prescribed herein.6.1.2 The product heat number shall appear on the certifi-cation or test report.6.2 Manuf
18、actureThe product shall be manufactured byhot working and heat treating as may be necessary to meet theproperties specified herein.7. Chemical Composition7.1 The product composition shall conform to the chemicalrequirements shown in Table 1.7.2 These composition limits do not preclude the presenceof
19、 other elements. Limits may be established and analysisrequired for unnamed elements by agreement between themanufacturer and the purchaser.7.3 Copper, given as remainder, is the difference betweenthe sum of all elements analyzed and 100 %. When all theelements given in Table 1 are analyzed, the sum
20、 of the resultsshall be 99.5 % minimum.8. Temper8.1 The standard temper designations available under thisspecification and as prescribed in Classification B 601 aresolution heat-treated TB00 (A) and precipitation heat-treatedTF00 (AT).9. Grain Size9.1 The grain size, if required, shall be as agreed
21、uponbetween the purchaser and the manufacturer and shall bedetermined in accordance with Test Methods E112.10. Physical Property Requirements10.1 Microstructure:10.1.1 The product in the TF00 (precipitation-hardened(AT) condition shall have a microstructure with a minimum ofsecond phase (beta) const
22、ituents. When present, beta shall befine and well dispersed.11. Mechanical Property Requirements11.1 HardnessThe product furnished under this specifica-tion shall conform to the hardness requirements prescribed inTable 2 for the solution heat-treated condition and Table 3 afterprecipitation heat tre
23、atment, unless tensile properties are re-quired by the purchase order. Rockwell hardness shall bedetermined in accordance with Test Method E18.11.2 TensileWhen specified in the contract or purchaseorder, the tensile properties of the product furnished shallconform to the properties in Table 2 or Tab
24、le 3 depending upontemper required. Tensile properties shall be determined inaccordance with Test Methods E8.12. Heat Treatment12.1 Solution Heat TreatmentTemper TB00 (A)Theproduct shall be heated to a uniform temperature, nominally1450F (788C) and quenched commensurate with the requiredproperty and
