Ordering Information5.1 Include the following information specified choices when placing orders for product under this specification, as applicable:5.1.1 ASTM designation and year of issue,5.1.2 Co
15、pper Alloy UNS No. designation (for example, C51000),5.1.3 Temper (for example, H04),5.1.4 Form of product (rod, bar or shape),5.1.5 Dimensions and permissible variations,5.1.6 Edge Contours,5.1.7 Quantitytotal weight of each copper alloy, temper, form, and size, and5.1.8 If product is purchased for
16、 an agency of the U.S. government (see Supplementary Requirements section of Intendedapplication.B249/B249M).5.2 The following options are available and should be specified at the time of placing the order when required:5.2.1 Piston-finish rod or shafting (Other Requirements section),5.2.2 Certifica
17、tion (Specification B249/B249M), and5.2.3 Mill test report (Specification B249/B249M).5.2.4 If product is purchased for agencies of the U.S. Government (see Supplementary Requirements section of B249/B249M).6. Material and Manufacture6.1 Material:6.1.1 The material of manufacture shall be cast rod,
18、bar, or billets of Copper Alloy UNS Nos. C51000, C52100, C52400,C53400, or C54400 and of such soundness as to be suitable for processing in to the products prescribed herein.NOTE 1Copper Alloy UNS Nos. C51000, C52100, and C52400 are suitable for structural applications, pump parts, rods, bolts, gear
19、s, and similarapplications.NOTE 2Copper Alloys UNS Nos. C53400 and C54400 are free machining and are suitable for screw-machine products.6.2 Manufacture:6.2.1 The product shall be manufactured by such hot-working, cold-working, and annealing processes as to produce a uniformwrought structure in the
20、finished product.6.2.2 The product shall be hot or cold worked to the finished size and subsequently annealed, when required, to meet the temperproperties specified.7. Chemical Composition7.1 The material shall conform to the chemical composition requirements in Table 1 for the Copper Alloy UNS No.
21、designationspecified in the ordering information.7.1.1 These composition limits do not preclude the presence of other elements. By agreement between the manufacturer and thepurchaser, limits may be established and analysis required for unnamed elements.7.2 For alloys in which copper is listed as “re
22、mainder,” copper is the difference between the sum of all elements determinedand 100 %.7.3 When all elements specified in Table 1,for the Copper Alloy UNS No. named in the ordering information are determined,the sum of results shall be 99.5 % min.8. Temper8.1 Rod and BarThe standard tempers tempers,
