Scope*1.1 This specification cover
3、s four specific types of plain endor threaded and coupled carbon steel pipe for use in waterwells.1.2 Each type of water well pipe shall conform to thefollowing methods of manufacture and grade as specified onthe purchase order:1.2.1 Type I, Drive PipeSeamless or electric-resistance-welded, Grades A
4、 and B.1.2.2 Type II, Water-Well Reamed and Drifted PipeSeamless or electric-resistance-welded, Grades A and B, orfurnace-butt welded.1.2.3 Type III, Driven Well PipeSeamless or electric-resistance-welded, Grades A and B, or furnace-butt welded.1.2.4 Type IV, Water-Well Casing PipeSeamless orelectri

Materials and Manufacture5.1 The steel for both seamless and welded pipe shall bemade by one of the following processes: open-hearth, electric-furnace, or basic-oxygen.5.2 Steel may be cast in ingots o
16、r may be strand cast. Whensteels of different grades are sequentially strand cast, identifi-cation of the resultant transition material is required. Theproducer shall remove the transition material by any estab-lished procedure that positively separates the grades.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The stee
17、l shall conform to the following requirements asto chemical composition:Phosphorus, max, % 0.050Sulfur, max, % 0.0607. Heat Analysis7.1 An analysis of each heat of steel shall be made by themanufacturer to determine the percentage of the elementsspecified in 6.1. When requested by the purchaser, the
18、 chemicalcomposition thus determined shall be reported to the purchaser,and shall conform to the requirements specified in 6.1.8. Product Analysis8.1 An analysis may be made by the purchaser on twolengths of pipe from each lot of 500 lengths, or fraction thereof.Samples for chemical analysis and the
19、 methods of analysisshall conform to the requirements of Test Methods, Practices,and Terminology A751. The chemical composition thus deter-mined shall conform to the requirements specified in 6.1.8.2 If the analysis of either pipe does not conform to therequirements of 6.1, analysis shall be made on
20、 additionallengths of pipe of double the original number from the samelot, each of which shall conform to the requirements specified.9. Tensile Requirements9.1 The material shall conform to the requirements as totensile properties specified in Table 1.9.2 The test specimen taken across the weld shal
21、l show atensile strength not less than the minimum tensile strengthspecified for the grade of pipe ordered. This test is not requiredfor pipe under 8 in. DN 200 in outside diameter.10. Dimensions, Weights, and Permissible Variations10.1 The dimensions and weights of all types of pipeincluded in this
22、 specification are listed in Tables 2-17:Type TablesI, Drive Pipe Table 2, Table 3,Table 4, Table 5II, Reamed and Drifted Pipe Table 6, Table 7,Table 8, Table 9III, Driven Well Pipe Table 10, Table 11,Table 12, Table 13IV, Water-Well Casing Pipe Table 14, Table 15,Table 16, Table 1710.2 Permissible
23、Variations in Weight and Dimensions:10.2.1 WeightThe weight of all types of pipe included inthis specification shall vary not more than 6 5 % from thatprescribed. The weight tolerance for pipe NPS 4 DN 100 andunder may be determined from the weight of the customarylifts of pipe as produced for shipm
24、ent, divided by the numberof feet of pipe in the lift. For pipe over NPS 4 DN 100, whereindividual lengths may be weighed, the weight is applicable tothe individual length.10.2.2 Outside DiameterFor pipe NPS 112 DN 40 andunder, the outside diameters shall vary not more than164 in.0.4 mm from the out
