2、se. 1. SCOPE 1.1 This specification covers the loading, assembling and packing for one type of propelling charge designated as Charge, Proof, PXR-6297, for 155MM Cannon, M185 and M199. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 The following documents of the issue in effect on date of invitation for bids or reques

5、nnon M185 and M199 3 . REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials. Materials shall be in accordance with applicable drawings and specifications. 3.2 Propellinq Charqe.The propelling charge shall comply with all requirements specified in applicable drawings and specifications 3.3 Moisture Content of Black Powder. Th

6、e moisture content of the black powder at the loading station at the time of loading shall not exceed the amount specified in MIL-P-223. 3.4 Weiqhts 3.4.1 Propellant Weight. The propellant weight shall comply with the weight specified in the loading authorization within plus or minus 0.25 ounce. 3.5

7、 Dimensional Gages 3.5.1 Maximum Lenqth and Diameter. The completed charge shall freely enter the prescribed gage. The gage shall be designed to inspect the maximum diameter and length. If the diameter feature is separate from the length feature, the diameter feature must extend approximately the fu

8、ll length of the charge. grease and other foreign material. There shall be no discoloration or deterioration of cloth and no evidence of rips, tears, or other cloth defects. All work performed shall be performed in a thorough workmanlike manner. 3.6 Workmanship. All components shall be free of dirt,

9、 3.7 Proving Ground. Twenty propelling charges will be fired at 1450F for information. 3.8 Assembly Torque. All tubes shall be free of cracks, dents, creases, tears, flat areas and softness greater than 0.25 inch. 3.1.0 Complete Igniter Alignmen

11、t. An approved method of centering the complete igniter assemblv in the increment assembly will be utilized for a3.1 charges. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection and Standard Quality Assurance Provisions. Unless otherwise specified herein or in the contract, the provisi

12、ons of MIL-A-48078 shall apply and are hereby made a part of this detail specification. 4.2 Quality Conformance Inspection 4.2.1 Inspection Lot Formation. Inspection lots shall comply with the lot formation provfsions of MIL-A-48078. In addition, inspection lots of propelling charge assemblies shall

13、 contain: a. Propeli.ant from not more than one lot number from one manufacturer. b. Black powder from not more than one lot number from one I manufacturer. c. Tubes from not more than one interfix number from one manufacturer. 4.2.2 Examination. See MIL-A-48078. a. Sampling Plans. Unless otherwise
