INTRODUCTION The present recommendation is the recul t of the working group “Aircraft Weight and Definitions which was founded by the “Commission Technique et Industrielle“ of the AECMA a

9、nd includes broad and detail comparisons in tabular forni of the following standards : German standard : DIN 9020 Edition 1978 Eng1 ish standard : AvNin Form 2492 Edition 1964 French standard : AIR 2001/C Edition 1962 USA standard : MIL-STD-1374 A Edition 1977 ATA 100 Edition 1974 The recommendation

10、 has the short term objective of simplifying the compari son between different weight standards and therefore faci 1 i tating international co-operation on common programmes. This aim was achieved by interpretation of the differences between individual weight standard by weights experts from the cou

11、ntry of origin of the national standards. Thus errors due to linguistic misinterpretation, which may have been included in unofficial weight comparisons used so far, have been eliminated. Additionally the classification of the comparisons has been standardised. In the long run.the European Industry

12、should be encouraged, in the opinion of all the working group members, to formulate a common standard of weight terms and definitions. Furthermore, the intensive work with these standards has contributed to the fact that mutual understanding has been significantly improved. Referring to Great Britai

13、n and Germany, where the national standards are currently being revised, co-operation in this work has resulted in a German represen- tative on the British Committee and British Expert in the German Committee. This will lead to an ajustment of standards and result in a considerable step forward towa

14、rds a European Standard. It is proposed that AECNA will periodically review the need to update this recommendation in the light of any changes that have occurred. In order to facilitate this task National Associations are requested to inform AECMA of any future changes to their Nati onal Weight Stan
