Scope1.1 This test method calculates the overall A-weightedsound power level emitted by small portable up
3、right, canister,combination vacuum cleaners, backpack vacuum cleaners,hard-floor cleaning machines, extractors, and central vacuumcleaner motorized nozzles intended for operation in domesticand commercial applications.1.1.1 To determine the Sound Power Level of a centralvacuum at the power unit loca
4、tion refer to Test Method F2544.1.2 A-weighted sound pressure measurements are per-formed on a stationary vacuum cleaner, extractor, hard-floorcleaning machine, or backpack vacuum cleaner in a semi-reverberant room. This test method determines sound power bya comparison method for small noise source
5、s, that is, compari-son to a broadband reference sound source.1.3 This test method describes a procedure for determiningthe approximate A-weighted sound power level of small noisesources. This test method uses a non-special semi-reverberantroom.1.4 Results are expressed as A-weighted sound power lev
6、elin decibels (referenced to one picowatt).1.5 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas the standard. 18、logy3.1 Definitions:3.1.1 population, nthe total of all of the units of theparticular model or type, or both, of vacuum cleaner beingtested.3.1.2 population sample or sample, nthree or more testunits, randomly taken from the population.3.1.3 reference sound source (RSS), na standard source ofbroadba
19、nd sound with a certified set of sound power emissions.3.1.4 source, na device that emits sound. This may be thevacuum cleaner or a motorized nozzle.3.1.5 test unit or unit, na single vacuum cleaner, nozzle,or hard-floor machine of the model or type, or both, beingtested.3.1.6 Unless otherwise indic
20、ated, definitions are in accor-dance with Terminology C634.4. Significance and Use4.1 The test results enable the comparison of A-weightedsound emission from vacuum cleaners, backpack vacuumcleaners, extractors, or hard-floor cleaning machines whentested under the condition of this test method.5. Te
21、st Room Requirements5.1 The test room shall be semi-reverberant. It shall containsufficiently little sound absorption material so the requirementsof 5.2 can be met. It should be large enough to meet thedimension requirements of 5.2.5.1.1 When a central vacuum cleaner motorized nozzle is tobe tested,
22、 the test room should be plumbed for a centralvacuum system according to the manufacturers instructionsusing standard 2.00-in. diameter thin-wall PVC tubing. Asingle wall inlet shall be located in the test room.5.2 Identify a location on the test room floor which canaccommodate six equally spaced mi
23、crophone positions 60apart located at a height of 60 in. (1.5 m) above the floor on a12 ft (3.6 m) diameter circle the center of which is the centerof the sound source. These positions shall result in a standarddeviation of the six sound pressure measurements of not morethan 2.3 dB when measuring th
24、e reference sound source. Thislocation is suitable for the vacuum cleaner and reference soundsource for this test method. Refer to Figs. 1-4 for typicallayouts.5.2.1 Use the same microphone setup for both canister andbackpack vacuums. Backpack vacuums shall be mounted 32 in.(800 mm) from the floor t
