The attacks arepermitted to be directed against the caps, the body, the locking mechanism, and any part of the hydrantabove the indicated “bury” line.6.4 The hand tools permitted to be used in the attack tests include hammers, chisels, pry bars,
15、 punches, screwdrivers, and wrenches (adjustable, socket and fixed open and closed-end type). The hammers shallnot exceed 3 pounds (1.36 kg) in head weight, and no hand tool is to exceed 18 inches (457 mm) inlength.6.5 The power tool permitted to be used in the attack tests shall be a variable speed
16、electric drill withcarbide tip and high-speed drill bits not exceeding 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) diameter.6.6 The hydrant shall be positioned as intended for use, and the attack performed by one operator whois familiar with its construction. Only the components in the location above the indicated “bury line

Anyindividual hydrant cap shall be able to be removed without a delay in excess of 30 seconds.7.2 The hydrant shall be mounted in the intended manner, in accordance with the manufacturersinstallation instructions.8 Variable Ambient Test8.1 A hydrant shall comply with the
20、Normal Operation Test, clause 7, after the tamper resistant featuresare exposed to ambient temperatures of minus 35 and plus 66C (minus 31 and plus 151F).8.2 A sample device shall be conditioned at the temperatures specified in 8.1 for a minimum of 4 hoursand subjected to the Normal Operation Test.9
21、 Corrosion Exposure Tests9.1 General9.1.1 A hydrant shall comply with the Normal Operation Test after the tamper resistant features areexposed to the Salt Spray (fog) described in 9.2, the Moist hydrogen sulfide (H2 S) - air mixture in 9.3and the Moist carbon dioxide (CO2)-sulfur dioxide (SO2)-air m
