20、EIA-136-376 TIA/EIA-136 is a multi-part standard that when taken in total, defines the requirements for a PCS/Cellular system and mobile stations using Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) technology while also maintaining compatibility with AMPS analog technology. The parts comprising the standard

21、are listed in TIA/EIA-136-000. TIA/EIA-136-376 specifies the mobility-management functions for high-speed packet-data service (EGPRS-136). 46、iality. The EGPRS-136 3 packet-data network combines TIA/EIA-41 14 circuit-switched network elements with 4 GPRS network elements (see TIA/EIA-136-370 12). The interaction between the 5 mobile station and the TIA/EIA-41 network elements is achieved by tunneling TIA/EIA-6 136 messages transparently t

47、hrough the SGSN (Serving GPRS Support Node). The 7 SGSN does not interpret the TIA/EIA-136 messages exchanged between the mobile 8 station and the Gateway TIA/EIA-41 MSC (Mobile Switching Center). 9 Two entities, taken together, implement mobility management in EGPRS-136: 10 GMM performs procedures

48、for packet-data mobility management by interacting 11 with the packet-data network elements. 12 136MM (136 Mobility Management) performs procedures primarily for circuit-13 services mobility management and for TIA/EIA-136 teleservices by tunneling 14 TIA/EIA-136 messages transparently through the SG

49、SN.
