Torque requirements for joint designs not included in this specification shall be determined by Fastener Engineering, and includ

For joint designs such as those when joint strength is the limiting factor, or when special fastener designs, finishes or materials used, predetermining torque ranges to meet clamp loads and/or joint durability requirements is no

14、NAVISTAR PDPET -19 *Conformance to the 1994 version required 5.0 FASTENER ASSEMBLY JOINT CLASSIFICATIONS Selection of the classification rating is dependent upon the function of the joint, clamp load control requirements, consequences of the joints failure and analysis of reliability/warranty data.
15、These ratings describe the application, assembly methods and quality control procedures. Joints must have a classification rating to determine torque and assembly requirements. Joint classification ratings and associated application characteristics are shown in the table below: Joint Classification
16、Definition 1 Critical joints as defined by the SMT hardware owners requiring precisely specified process controls. A specific subset of Class 1 joints are referred to as “Delta Critical” joints and have a D/PFMEA severity ratings of 9 or 10. A Joint functional requirements dictate a narrow clamp loa
