8、yer characteristics for transporting ATM cells using existing Primary Rate ISDN systems. It includes both 1544 and 2048 kbit/s interfaces at the T, and S, reference points of the B-ISDN User-Network Interface (UNI). These Physical Layer characteristics may be used to take advantage of existing trans
9、mission equipment and building wiring. This Recommendation is part of the 1.432-series, and includes references to Recommendation 1.432.1 on general characteristics, and Recommendation 1.432.2 on OAM aspects. 11、alized Agency in the field of telecommunications. The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of the ITU. The ITU-T is responsible for studying technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommunicati
12、ons on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Conference (WTSC), which meets every four years, establishes the topics for study by the ITU-T Study Groups which, in their turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. The approval of Recommendations by the Members of the ITU-T
13、 is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSC Resolution No. 1. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation the term recognized operating agency (ROA) includes a
14、ny individual, company, corporation or governmental organization that operates a public correspondence service. 23、ers. 2 Background This Recommendation is part of the 1.432-series, and contains those characteristics that are specific to transmission systems operating at 1544 kbit/s and 2048 kbit/s. It should be used in conjunction with Recommendation 1.432.1 on general characteristics which treats material rele
24、vant to all B-ISDN transmission systems at the UNI. These Physical Layer characteristics may be used to take advantage of existing transmission equipment and building wiring.
