2、 2 RUBBER, ENGINE MOUNTS - INSULATOR ESA-M2D223-A NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is an elastomer used in engine mounts. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used as a mechanical insulator in engine supports. 3. REQU

3、IREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 UNCURED COMPOUND REQUIREMENT 3.1.1 Rheometer Each tubing run and/or lot of material must have an oscilla

4、ting disc or cone rheometer curve that corresponds to the master curve of the material. The master curve for each compound is to be submitted to the affected product engineering materials office within 30 days after the first production shipment of finished parts containing that compound. 3.2 TEST S

5、PECIMEN Values for the following properties shall be specified on the engineering drawing. 3.2.1 Hardness, Durometer “A“ (ASTM D 2240) Hardness shall be used as a criterion for rejection of material having a variation from the print hardness level of 10 or more units. 3.2.2 Tensile Strength (ASTM D

9、cation as required. 3.4.3 Infrared Spectrophotometry and Thermal Analysis The vulcanizate of each unique compound used in end items supplied to this specification shall have infrared, TGA, and DTA curves which are to be submitted to the affected product engineering materials office no later than 30

10、days after the first production shipment of parts or assemblies containing that vulcanizate. These initial curves will become the masters to which subsequent curves must correspond until a detectable change in compounding requires that new master curves be generated. Once the master curves are established subsequent curves are to be generated twice annually and retained in the suppliers plant quality control department. The most recent curves of those generated on this basis shall not be more than 6 months old.
