SCOPE: 1.1 The foot switches described herein are of two basic types: Type A - Those approved for use in general application throughout the Ford Motor Company as noted in 1.2. Type B - Those approved as noted in 1.2 for specif

2、ic control of presses, shears, and similar machines or equipment. 1.2 The application of a foot switch to control an operation shall have the approval of the plant safety engineer. 2. ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS: 2.1 ENcL.osuRE: 2.1.1 The enclosure for the electrical switches shall conform to requiremen

3、ts of NEMA Type 13. Cover gaskets shall be an oil resistant synthetic material. The enclosure shall include a tapered threaded hub for 3/4 inch conduit; threads shall conform to ANSI/ASME B 120.1. 2.1.2 2.1.3 2.1.4 Provision shall be made for terminating a grounding conductor inside the switch enclo

4、sure. The grounding screw shall be colored green and have a slotted, hex head. All foot switches shall have guards on the top and both sides of the operating pedal. Clearance dimensions shall be as shown in Figure 1. Type B foot switches shall include a door on the front which protects the operating

5、 pedal, or other Ford approved means shall be provided to prevent unintentional operation when not in use, and shall conform to Ford Manufacturing Standard DR8X. If the 6 x 18 inch base mounting plate is required, it will be furnished and mounted to the switch by the requisitioning plant. 2.1.5 The

6、surface, on which the foot presses, shall be non-skid, and either rippled or corrugated. 2.1.6 The foot switch enclosure shall be prime painted with Ford M6J139A gray, lead and chromate free, primer or M6J139B white, lead and chromate free, primer and finish painted with Ford M-325-A target yellow,

7、P&OPC, enamel. A minimum of 22.2 N (5 lbs.) of force sha

8、ll be required on the leading edge of the foot pedal to operate the switch assembly(ies). Where a foot pedal return spring is used, it shall be of the compression type, operating on a rod or guided within a hole or tube, or designed to prevent inter-leaving of spring coils in the event of breakage.

9、SWITCH CONTACT ASSEMBLIES: The foot switch assembly shall include provision for a minimum of two normally open and two normally closed switch contact assemblies, with no common terminals. The switches shall not be restricted as to polarity of the control voltage, 120 VAC. In applications of the Type

10、 A switch, where only one normally open and one normally closed contact is required for control of simple circuits, an anti-repeat circuit is not required, but isolated switch assemblies shall be furnished. The switch terminals shall accommodate AWG No. 16, 64 strand conductors without adding connec

11、tors or lugs. Neither the head nor the point of the terminal screw shall bear directly on the conductor strands. Saddle clamps or pressure plates shall be captive to the terminal screw. At least two threads shall remain engaged when screws are backed out to receive conductors. The switch assemblies

12、shall conform to NEMA Standard ICS, Industrial Controls and Systems, 2-125 and rated not less than A300. Fast make, fast break (snap action) switch assemblies are preferred. 13、using shall not break, and the switch(s) shall not operate when subjected to the impact of a 22.7kg (50 lbs) solid iron sphere dropped from a three foot height. The guard and switch housing shall also withstand a static weight of 113.4 kg (250 lbs) without permanent deformation of the guard, or oper
