SCOPE. This CID covers the general requiremen

2、ts for rings, expansion, hose, brass. Expansionrings covered in this CID are intended for commercial/industrial applications. Typically the rings areused to secure hose and couplings together.2. CLASSIFICATION. The expansion rings shall conform to the following dimensions, tolerances, andsize.2.1 Di

3、mensions and tolerances . The outside diameter, length, and wall thickness shall be as specifiedin table 1. The ends of the rings shall be perpendicular to the centerline within 0.016 inch.2.2 Size . The nominal hose size and length of the rings shall be as specified in table 1.Beneficial comments,

7、ACTERISTICS.3.1 Material . The rings shall be soft-annealed seamless brass tube conforming to ASTM B 135,(Seamless Brass Tube) Copper Alloy UNS No. 023000, Temper 06.3.1.1 Mechanical properties .3.1.2 Expansion . When tested as specified in ASTM B 135, the tubing from which the rings arefabricated s

8、hall not rupture or crack.3.1.3 Residual stress . When tested as specified in ASTM B 154 ( Mercurous Nitrate Test for Copper andCopper Alloys), the tubing from which the rings are fabricated shall not show evidence of stress corrosioncracking caused by residual stress.Provided by IHSNot for ResaleNo

Annealed tubing from which the rings are fabricated shall be either bright annealed or acidcleaned after final annealing operations.3.3 Workmanship . The brass rings shall be free from sharp edges, nicks and b

10、ruises. Both ends of therings shall be rounded as shown on figure 1 to prevent injury during handling.4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS.4.1 Recovered materials . Th e offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to themaximum extent practicable, in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Reg

11、ulation (FAR).5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS.5.1 Product conformance . T he products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this CID,conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices, andbe the same product offered for sale in the commercia

12、l market. The Government reserves the right torequire proof of such conformance.5.2 Market acceptability . The following market acceptability criteria are necessary to document thequality of the product to be provided under the requirements of this CID.a. T he company producing the item must have be

13、en producing a product meeting therequirements of this CID, for at least two years.b. The company must have sold 1,000 units meeting this CID, in the commercial marketplaceor to the Government, over the past two years.6. PACKAGING.6.1 Preservation, packing and marking . Preservation, packing, and ma

14、rking shall be as specified in thecontract or order.7. NOTES .7.1 Part Identification Number (PIN) . The following P IN procedure is for government purposes and doesnot constitute a requirement for the contractor. This example describes a part numbering system for CIDA-A-XXXXX. 18、137.4 Intended use . Expansion rings are used to secure hose and couplings together. The expansionring is inserted inside the end of a hose and expanded through a swaging process. The coupling andexpansion ring are securely fit together as one piece.7.5 Commercial p roducts . As part of the market a
