26、Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 21049:2004 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 12 “Materials, equipment and offshore structures for petroleum and natural gas industries“ the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standa

27、rd, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2005, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by June 2005. It is applicablemainly for hazard

36、ous, flammable and/or toxic services where a greater degree of reliability is required for theimprovement of equipment availability and the reduction of both emissions to the atmosphere and life-cyclesealing costs. It covers seals for pump shaft diameters from 20 mm (0,75 in) to 110 mm (4,3 in).This

37、 International Standard is also applicable to seal spare parts and can be referred to for the upgrading ofexisting equipment.
