2、SF) Text of the Recomn-iendation adopted by Teecoiinicatiois Commission : “The European Conference of Posts and Telecommunications Administrations, considering 1. that Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) will make available New Services and Facilities for Customers Private Branch Exchanges (P
3、BX) and Local Area Networks (LAN) and allow the evolution of dedicated service PBXs (e.g. for voice only) to Integrated Services PBXs (ISPBXs), 2. that there is merit in harmonising the form in which these services are given to users in order to simplify their 3. that the services provided by one IS
4、PBX or LAN may require to interface to those services provided by another 4. the harmonised services should result in lower overall costs and faster growth, 5. that there is a need to develop within a common framework coherent arrangements for ISPBX or LAN access * operating procedure, ISPBX or LAN
5、using the ISDN, and also to other users of the ISDN, to different service provided, recommends to CEPT members 1. 1.1. 2. 2.1. 2.2. 2.3. GENERAL Application of Recommendation That in general the requirements of this Recommendation should apply equally to LANs and ISPBXs when connected to an ISDN. Th
6、e application to other Subscriber Complex Installations requires further study. DEFINITION OF A SUBSCRIBER COMPLEX INSTALLATION (SCI) ISPBX An ISPBX is a PBX which may support any or all services that can be supported by ISDN basic access. Each extension of an ISPBX may support one or a range of ser
7、vice terminals, e.g. telephony, data and telex, etc. LAN O Edition of January 15, 1988 A data communication-system, which allows a number of independent data devices to communicate with each other. A local area network is distinguished from other types of data networks in that the communica- tion is
8、 confined to a moderate sized geographic area, such as one office building, one warehouse, or one campus, etc. and a moderate data rate. This is in contrast to long-distance networks which interconnect offices in different parts of the country, networks which interconnect equipment in one room, or n
9、etworks or devices inside one piece of equipment (definition IEEE 802 committee). Other SCIs For further study. 10、e same ISDN Supplementary Services to be available to all subscribers, it may not be possible to apply some Supplementary Services in SCIs which do not have DDI. Some examples of such services are: - completion of calls meeting busy; - network provided Supplementary Services that result in a reverte
11、d call (e.g. Alarm Call); - transferred Charging. That it should be possible to request for ISDN Supplementary Services at the commencement of, during or between basic calls as appropriate to the particular Supplementary Services. The validation of Supplementary Services against individual SCI exten
12、sion terminals is not considered to be a function of the ISDN. An exception to this may be Closed User Groups (CUGs). That it may be more appropriate for some Supplementary Services to be provided by the SCI (e.g. Night Busying) instead of in the public network. That additional Supplementary Service
13、s, over and above those normally available to the basic ISDN subscribers access, should be available to SCI users.
