9、:1990 BSI 10-1999 1 1 Scope This British Standard specifies overall mounting and installation dimensions, and certain electrical connections and signals for circular electronic tachographs. 2 Definition For the purposes of this British Standard the following definition applies. tachograph an instrum
10、ent which displays andrecordsspeedand distance and meets therequirementsofEEC Regulation 1463/70 Annex 1and/or EEC Regulation 3821/85Annex 1 3 Mechanical features 3.1 General The tachograph shall have connectors at the rear and a calibration facility accessible without removal of the instrument from
11、 its mounting, e.g. by means of a hinged door. The tachograph shall be circular in shape. 3.2 Dimensions Dimensions shall be as given in Figure 1 for the following items: a) body diameter, A; b) bezel diameter: 1) at mounting face, B 1 ; 2) at connector insertion face, B 2 ; c) body height above mou
12、nting face, C; d) bezel depth behind mounting face, including connectors and sealing device(s), D; e) hinge to top edge of body, E; f) trim panel clearance hold, F. 4 Electrical features 4.1 General Four connectors shall be fitted at the rear of the tachograph to provide the electrical interface. 4.
13、2 Connector pin assignments The functions assigned to pins shall be as given in Table 1. NOTE 1For connections without an assignment, i.e.unallocated pins, the preferred function is indicated. NOTE 2Each dash in Table 1 represents a switch selection point which is not occupied within the standard ba
14、nk of11switch point units. 4.3 Input signal The input signal frequency range shall be2400to24659pulses/km. 4.4 Calibration There shall be10switches provided, for purposes of calibration. NOTESee Table 2 for details of switch settings. 4.5 Auto power standby (where fitted) After having received no in
15、put signal for a period of48h the instrument shall switch to low power mode. It shall reset automatically on receipt of the input signal. 4.6 Serial data link Facilities for a serial data link shall be incorporated. NOTENo universally accepted standard relating to a serial data link is yet available

23、aximum. NOTE 9The output frequency is identical to, and synchronous with, the engine speed. The input signal pulse width = 8/N where N = number of pulses per engine revolution. NOTE 10Activate the connector pin by connecting the ground contact. Active (low) = 0V to2.0V Inactive (high) = 5V minimum.
