6、efinition 10101 actuator A power-operated device on aircraft to effect movement over a limited linear or angular range. 10102 air-compressor intake throttle A valve controlling automatically the intake of an air compressor to maintain a required condition on the delivery side at varying altitudes. 1
7、0103 emergency air Compressed air for energizing a hydraulic or pneumatic circuit in the event of failure of the normal power supply. 10104 emergency cartridge A cartridge, the products of combustion of which energize a hydraulic or pneumatic circuit in the event of failure of the normal power suppl
8、y or operate an emergency mechanism such as an ejection seat. 10105 ground test couplings Couplings which enable the hydraulic or pneumatic system to be tested by an externally applied source of power. 10106 hydraulic circuit A branch of an aircraft hydraulic system serving a particular purpose, e.g
9、. flap circuit, undercarriage circuit. 10107 hydraulic lock A condition in which the fluid is prevented from flowing, thereby locking some part of the equipment, or a device for providing this condition. 10108 hydraulic system 1. A particular method of transmitting power by means of liquid under pre

The complete hydraulic installation. 10109 maximum delivery pressure The pressure at which the operation of the control mechanism automatically begins to reduce the delivery from a pump. 10110 pneumatic circuit A branch of an aircraft pneumatic system serving a particular p
11、urpose. e.g. flap circuit, undercarriage circuit. 10111 pneumatic system 1. A particular method of transmitting power by means of air under pressure. 2. Of an aircraft. 13、aintaining valve See 8265. 10116 selector valve A valve for directing the flow of fluid into any one of a number of circuits or “ways”. 10117 sequence valve A selector valve which comes into operation at some stage in the movement of one component to initiate movement of the next component in any se

In the pulled position in which the circuit is normally open, i.e. not energized. 10205 cable harness CABLE LOOM CABLE FO
17、RM A preformed cable assembly with its associated terminations. 10206 circuit breaker A mechanical switching device capable of making, carrying and breaking currents under normal circuit conditions and also making, carrying for a specified time and breaking currents under specified abnormal circuit
18、conditions such as those of short-circuit. (Cf. 10210.) NOTEA circuit-breaker is usually intended to operate infrequently although some types are suitable for frequent operation. circuits 10207 interlocking circuit A circuit in which the operation of one item of electrical apparatus is made dependen
19、t upon the fulfilment of certain predetermined conditions in other items of apparatus, controls or circuits. 10208 main circuit An arrangement of conductors for conveying electric power from the power source to a main distribution point in an aircraft. 10209 feeder circuit SUB-CIRCUIT An arrangement
20、 of conductors for transmitting electric power from a main distribution point. 10210 contactor A mechanical switching device having only one position of rest, operated otherwise than by hand and capable of making, carrying and breaking currents under normal circuit conditions including operating ove
21、rload conditions. (Cf. 10206.) NOTE 1A contactor is usually intended to operate frequently. NOTE 2A contactor may also be capable of making and breaking short-circuit currents. 10211 convertor A rotary machine, or combination of machines, for the conversion of alternating current into direct current
