Scope1.1 This specification2covers three grades of zirconium andzirconium alloy bar and wire.1.2 Unless a single unit is used, for exa
3、mple corrosion massgain in mg/dm2, the values stated in either inch-pound or SIunits are to be regarded separately as standard. The valuesstated in each system are not exact equivalents; therefore eachsystem must be used independently of the other. SI valuescannot be mixed with inch-pound values.1.3

6、ions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.1.1 annealed, ndenotes material that exhibits a recrys-tallized grain structure.3.2 Lot Definitions:3.2.1 bar and wire, na lot shall consist of a material of thesame size, shape, condition, and finish produced from the sameingot or powder blend by the same r
7、eduction schedule and thesame heat treatment parameters. Unless otherwise agreedbetween manufacturer and purchaser, a lot shall be limited tothe product of an 8 h period for final continuous anneal, or toa single furnace load for final batch anneal.3.2.2 Forms:3.2.2.1 bar, na hot rolled, forged, or
8、cold worked semi-finished solid section product whose cross sectional area isequal to or less than 16 in.2(10 323 mm2); rectangular bar mustbe less than or equal to 10 in. (254 mm) in width and greaterthan 0.1875 in. (4.8 mm) in thickness.3.2.2.2 wire, nrounds, flats, or special shapes less than ore
9、qual to 0.1875 in. (4.8 mm) in thickness or major dimension.4. Classification4.1 The bar or wire is to be furnished in three grades asfollows:4.1.1 Grade R60702Unalloyed zirconium.4.1.2 Grade R60704Zirconium-tin.4.1.3 Grade R60705Zirconium-niobium.5. Ordering Information5.1 Orders for material under
10、 this specification shouldinclude the following information:5.1.1 Quantity (weight or number of pieces),5.1.2 Name of material (zirconium bar or wire) (Table 1),5.1.3 Grade number (see 4.1),5.1.4 Standard designation and year of issue, for exampleASTM Specification B 550/B 550M-07, and5.1.5 Addition
11、s to the specification as required.NOTE 1A typical ordering description is as follows: 1000 lb (500 kg)zirconium cold drawn bar, 0.35 in. (10 mm) in diameter by 10 ft (3 m) inlength, ASTM B 550 - 01, Grade R60702.6. Materials and Manufacture6.1 Bar and wire covered by this specification shall beform
12、ed with conventional fabrication methods and equipmentfound in primary ferrous and nonferrous metal plants.6.2 The products covered include the sections and sizesshown in Table 1.6.3 Bar and wire will be supplied in the conditions pre-scribed in Table 2.1This specification is under the jurisdiction

Chemical Composition7.1 The material shall conform to the requirements as tochemical composition prescribed in Table 3.7.2 The manufactu
16、rers ingot analysis shall be consideredthe chemical analysis for bar and wire, except for hydrogen andnitrogen, which shall be determined on the finished product.7.3 When requested by the purchaser and stated in thepurchase order, a product analysis for any elements listed inTable 3 shall be made on
17、 the finished product.7.3.1 The manufacturers analysis shall be considered asverified if the check analysis confirms the manufacturersreported values within the tolerances prescribed in Table 4.8. Mechanical Properties8.1 The annealed material shall conform to the requirementsfor mechanical properti
18、es, at room temperature, as prescribedin Table 5. Wire supplied for welding applications shall befurnished with a temper suitable for uniform feeding insemiautomatic or automatic welding equipment.9. Permissible Variations in Dimensions9.1 Unless otherwise specified, all bar or wire shall conformto
