Mum was over the moonit meant he no longer had to travel all over the country and spend months away from home.Dad was excited about his new job, and when he started working late neither Mum nor I thought anything of it. I believed he was at work, tucked away in his officeuntil I got that unforgettable midnight call.The womans voice was hesitant but panicky. She asked if I was Georges daughter, I didnt realize who she was until she told m
12、e Dad was with herat midnight.She said she hadnt wanted to ring, that shed never wanted me to find out about her, but she had no choice.
