ITU-T RECOMMENDATION 1.432.4 B-ISDN USER-NETWORK INTERFACE - PHYSICAL LAYER SPECIFICATION: 51 840 kbit/s OPERATION Summary This Recommendation covers Physical Layer characteristics for transporting Asynchron
8、ous Transfer Mode (ATM) cells at a nominal bit rate of 51 840 kbit/s over Category 3 Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cabling at the S, reference point of the B-ISDN User Network Interface (UNI). The maximum distance is approximately 100 m. This specification may be used to take advantage of existing b
9、uilding wiring. Functionality is presented in terms of Physical Media Dependent (PMD) and Transmission Convergence (TC) sublayers, and both Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH)-based and cell-based formats are included. This Recommendation is part of the 1.432-series Recommendations, and includes ref
10、erences to Recommendation 1.432.1 on general characteristics, and Recommendation 1.432.2 on Transmission Convergence sublayer aspects. 12、pecialized Agency in the field of telecommunications. The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of the ITU. The ITU-T is responsible for studying technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommuni
13、cations on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Conference (WTSC), which meets every four years, establishes the topics for study by the ITU-T Study Groups which, in their turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. The approval of Recommendations by the Members of the I
14、TU-T is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSC Resolution No. 1. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation the term recognized operating agency (ROA) includ
15、es any individual, company, corporation or governmental organization that operates a public correspondence service.
