SCOPE 1.1 ScoDe. This specification covers a cotton duck bag, to contain a pa

2、tients personal effects, for use with an adjustable hospital bed, 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 The following documents of the issue in effect on date of invita- tion for bids or request for proposals, form a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. 7、, standards, drawings and publications required by contractors in connection with specific procurement functions should be obtained from the procuring activity or as directed by the contracting officer . ) 3.1 First article. When specified in the procurement document, the contractor shall furnish sa

8、mple unit(s) for first article inspection and approval (see 4.1.2.1 and 6.2). 3.2 Material. Except as hereinafter specified, materials shall conform to the applicable portions of the specifications, standards and drawing, (Sheet 7 of DPSC Drawing No. 25024 and pages 5 and 6 of the Bill of Materials

9、thereto contain all references to the bag.) Materials shall be subjected to the tests and meet the requirements specified in these docu- ments. The metais shall conform to the chemical and physical requirements of the applicable specifications. Materials, not specifically designated herein, but used

10、 in the fabrication of the bag shall be suitable for the purpose intended. As an alternate, No. 12 duck, as specified in CCC-D-419, vat dyed O.D. f7, may be substituted for 9.85 oz. Army duck. 3.3 Desian and const ruc t ion . The bag shall be constructed in accord- ance with the applicable portions

11、of DPSC Drawing No. 25024 and as speci- fied herein. 2 i - , . . . All stitching required in the fabrication of the bag shall be type 301

12、 or 401 of Federal Standard 751. There shall be 8 to 10 stitches per inch. When machine stitching is not continuous or is broken there shall be not less than 1/2 inch overstitching at each break. All stitching shall be backtacked not less than 1/4 inch at the ends, to pre- vent unraveling except whe

13、re the ends are turned under in a hem or held down by other stitching. that the lock shall be embedded in approximately the center of the materials sewed, stitching, Type EFb-1 of FED-STD-751. All seams shall be straight and evenly spaced. Thread tension shall be properly maintained so All edges whi

14、ch are not selvaged shall be hemmed with 3.5 Treatment. The finished cloth shall be type I, olive drab No. 7, class B of CCC-D-950 except that the cloth shall be made mildew-resistant by treatment limited to one of the following mildew inhibitors: a. 2,2 Methylene - BIS (4-Chlorophenol), b. Copper-8

15、-Quinolinolate. 3.5 Jdent ification markinq. Each bag shall be marked on the back, permanently and legibly, with the contract or purchase order number, the name or registered trademark of the manufacturer and the National Stock Number. 3.6 YorkmanshiD. Workmanship shall be first class throughout. It

16、em shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability. 4 QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 ResDonsibilitv fo r insDection . Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified

17、herein, in the contract, the contractor may use his own or anyother facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where

18、such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Except as otherwise specified 4.1.1 .Records. Records of examinations and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made available to the Government, upo

Inspection, as used in this specification, is defined as both examination (such as visual and auditory investigation without the use of special laboratory appliances or procedures) and testing (determina- tion by technical means of ph

21、ysical and chemical properties) of the item. 4 i. 2. i Cassif icat ion of inmection . The inspection requirements specified herein are classif i-ed as follows : a. First article inspection. b, Quality conformance inspection. 4.1.2.1.1 First.article insDection. . First article inspection shall be per

22、formed on the bag when a first article sample is required (see 3.1). This inspection shall include examination of 4.4. 4.1.2.1.2 Qualitv conformance insDection , Quality conformance inspection shall include the examination of 4.4, . Certificates of quality, supplied by the 4.1.3 Lertifioates of aual

23、itv *. manufacturer of the materials may be furnished in lieu of actual perform- ance of such testing by the contractor, provided lot identity has been maintained and can be demonstrated to the Government, and provided also that the test methods and the results obtained comply with those described i

24、n this specification. The certificate shall include the name of the contractor, the contract number, the name of the manufacturer or supplier, the NSN, the Item Identification, the name of the component/material, the lot number, the lot size, the sample size, the date of testing, the test method, in

25、dividual test results, and the specification requirements. 4.2 Jnmection lot. 4.2.1 flaw materiu . An inspection lot for raw material inspection shall be all material produced under the same conditions and controlled to the degree that uniformity of product within the designated lot can be assured.

26、Lot identification of the raw material by the manufacturer is one method of control, as cited above, which is considered acceptable. 4.2.2 +End Droduct. An inspection lot for inspection of end product shall consist of all bags of the same type produced under essentially the same conditions and offer

27、ed for inspection at one time. 4.3.1 -Q F . Sampling for examination shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105 and table I. The inspection of the unit pa

34、ckage, packing and marking for shipment and storage shall be in accordance with quality assurance provisions of the applicable container specification and marking requirements of MIL-STD-129. 5. PACKAGING 5.1 PackaW . Packaging shall be level A or C, as specified (see 6.2). 5.1.1 JJnit of issue . Ea

35、ch bag, as specified, constitutes one unit of issue. 5.1.2 Level A, 5.1.2.1 ut Dackau . Each patient bag shall be neatly folded to an approximate dimension of 12 by 8 inches and inserted into a snug fitting polyethylene bag. The bag shall be a flat style made of clear polyethylene film of not less t

36、han 0.00125 inch thickness. The bag shall be formed with heat sealed seams that are straight and continuous and parallel to each other and the formed edges of the bag. Closure of the bag shall be made by heat sealing or means of a tuck or reverse flap. A 1/4 inch diameter hole shall be made at one c

37、orner of the polyethylene bag to allow excess air to escape. 5.1.3 Jlevel C. Each patient bag shall be packaged in a manner that will afford adequate protection against deterioration and physical damage during shipment from the supply source to the first receiving activity. 5.2 Packinq. Packing shal

38、l be level A, B or C, as specified (see 6.2). 5,2.1 Level A. Twenty-four unit packages shall be packed in a shipping container designed for a type 2 load and conforming to PPP-B-636, class weather-resistant. Closure, strapping and waterproofing shall be as speci- fied in the appendix of the box spec

39、ification. 5.2.2 Level B. Twenty-four unit packages shall be packed in a shipping container designed for a type 2 load and conforming to PPP-B-636, class domestic. The packaged patient bags shall be packed in shipping containers in a manner that will afford adequate protection against damage during direct shipaent from the supply source to the first receiving activity. These packs shall conform

41、 to, the carriers rules and regulations. , 5.3 Marking. 5.3.1 Unit Dac kane. Ea.ch unit package shall be marked as specified in MIL-STD-129. The required information shall be printed directly on the polyethylene bag across the center face or on a paper label inserted within the bag in such a manner

42、to permit ready identification. 5.3.2 =mine container- Each shipping container shall be marked 8s specified in MIL-STD-129. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use. The bag is intended for use with adjustable bed, NSN 6530-01 -015-5189, 6.2 Orderina data, . Purchasers should select the preferred options permitted
