2、ancelled. This Commercial Item Description covers a cotton pad covering for the eye. Salient Characteristics: Shall be a sterile gauze covered cotton pad suitable for use as a protective covering for the eye and shall be suitable for use as an eye dressing. tested in accordance with the USP. The pad

7、 and bottom each with a single thickness of gauze. The edges of the pad shall be uncovered. The pads shall be oval shaped having overall minimum dimensions of 2-3/8 inches long by 1-13/16 inches wide. The finished pad shall have a minimum weight of 1.0 grams after being conditioned in accordance wit

8、h Section 4 of Federal Test Method Standard 191. The gauze covering shall be free of holes, cuts and tears. The finished pads shall be free from dirt, ravelings and foreign matter. The cotton filler shall not be frayed. Workmanshin. The Pads shall be free from defects which detract from their appear

9、ance or impair their serviceability. Unit. Package (PG). Each pad shall be individually packaged in a sealed suitable paper envelope capable of maintaining sterility of contents unless package is damaged or opened. One package containing 50 individually packaged pads, as specified, constitutes one u

Examination shall be conducted to determine complia

15、nce with specification requirements. Tests. Tests shall be conducted to determine compliance with specification requirements. Where feasible, the same sample shall be used for the determination of two or more test characteristics. Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the produ

16、ct offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise p

17、rovided for under the provisions of the contract. Metric Products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerance specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revisi

18、on of Federal Standard No. 376, and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerance specified in the inch/pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is accep

19、table. The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product. Reaulatorv reauirements. Federal Food, Drua and Cosmetic Act. If the product covered by this document has been determined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to be under its jurisdiction, the offeror/contractor

20、 shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by its subcontractors/suppliers, with the requirements of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, as amended, and regulations promulgated thereunder. In addition, the offeror/contractor shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by its subcontra
