SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specificatio

REQu- % i 3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2), a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection

12、 (see 6.3) in accordance with 4.3. a 3.2 Government and contractor purchases. The requirements specified in 3.8 and 3.9 apply only to cord prchased directly by the Government. other requirements apply both to cord purchased by a contractor as a carrponent for an end item and to cord purchased direct

13、ly by the Government. All 3.3 Standard sample. The cord shall match the standard sample for shade and shall be equal to or better than the standard sample with respect to all characteristics for which the standard sample is referenced (see 6.4). 3.4 Material. The yarn used in the fabrication of the

14、cord shall be a mltifilmnt, plied or single polyester yarn. When dyed cord is specified, the shade shall be obtained by yarn dyeing or piece dyeing and subsequently the material shall be processed to stabilize the yani or cord (see 6.5). It is encouraged that recycled material be used when practical

15、 as long as it mets the requirements of this specification. 3.5 Construction and phmical requ irements. The cord shall be a solid braid construction without a core. The fabricated cord shall have a compact structure of locked stitches forming a round, even, solid cord and shall be processed to meet

16、the requirements specified in table I when tested as specified in 4.4.3. The character of the cord shall be qual to the standard sample for roundness and firmness (see 6.4). TW I. The dyed cord shall Shaw fastness to weathering equal to or better than the standard sample or equal to or b

20、etter than a rating of “good“ when tested as specified in 4.4.3. 3.6.2 Matchinq. The color of the dyed cord shall match the standad sample when viewed under filtered tungsten lamps that approximate artificial daylight and that have a correlated color temperature of 7500 _+ 200K, with illumination of

21、 100 f 20 foot candles, and shall be a good match to the standard sample der incandescent lamplight at 2300 f 200K. * 3.7 Non-fibrous material (chloroform-soluble materiall. No extraneous material shall be added for the purpose of weighting the cord. formsoluble material of the coni shall not exceed

The end item shall conform to the quality of produ

29、ct established by this specification and the occurrence of defects shall not exceed the applicable acceptable quality levels. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PEIOVISIONS 4.1 Resuonsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the perfor

30、mance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the perfonn- ance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapprove

31、d by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. Ail items shall meet all requi

32、rements of sections 3 and 5. specification shall became a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies sutmitted t

33、o the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. inspection, as part of manufacturing operations, is an acceptable practice to ascertain conformance to requirements, however, this does not authorize suhission of knuwn defective material, either indicated or actual, nor d

34、oes it camit the Government to accept defective material. The inspection set forth in this Sampling 4.1.2 Certificates of compliance. When certificates of compliance are sWtted, the Government reserves the right to inspect such items to determine the validity of the certification. 4.2 Classification

35、 of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. b. First article inspection (see 4.3). Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4). 4.3 First article inspection. When a first article is required (see 3.1 and 6.2), it shall be examined for the defects specifie

36、d in 4.4.2.1 and 4.4.2.2 and tested for the characteristics specified in 4.4.3. 4.4 Quality confonnance inspection. Unless otherwise spified, sampling for inspection shall be performed in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 4.4.1 Ccinuonent and material inspection. In accordance with 4.1, cqnents and mater

A certificate of cqliance my be acceptable as evidence that the material conforms to the requirements Q) specified in 3.4. 4.4.2 End item examination. 4.4.2.1 End item visual examination. The cord s

39、hall be examined for the defects listed in table III. their proximity to each other. The lot size shall be expressed in units of spools or reels of cord. cord. examined on each spool or reel of cord in the sample. The inspection level shall be II, and the acceptable quality level (AQL), expressed in

47、r splice. 4.4.3 End item testing. The methods of testing specified in FED-SlD-191, wherever applicable, ami as listed in table IV shall be follawed. When the data in the Wmber of determinations“ and “Results reported as“ columns are not specified in table IV, they shall be as required by the referen
