1、A-A-50166A SUPERSEDING A-A-50166 Auaust 30, 1994 May 12, 1988 COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION PADDING, COTTON, STITCHED ROVING The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to CCC-P-86. - 1. SCOPE. This commercial item description covers the

2、 requirements for cotton padding to be used on flatwork ironers and pressing machines. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. The padding shall be made of cleaned, natural color cotton roving, or a blend of 60 percent cotton/40 percent polyester roving which has been carded and drawn. The padding shall be fabr

3、icated to simulate a woven construction with the roving strands running widthwise and the stitching running lengthwise in row formation binding each roving strand in successive order. The padding shall be stitched with a single-needle chain stitch, at 6 to 8 stitches per inch with 2- ply combed cott

4、on thread, ticket no. 60. The padding shall be furnished in rolls with continuous lengths of 45 to 55 yards. The finished padding shall conform to the physical requirements listed in Table I. 8、ation: contractors name, contract number, and National Stock Number. 3. REGULATORY REOUIREMENTS. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PR

9、OVISIONS 4.1 Certification. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial item description; conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices; and is the

10、 same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 4.2 Market acceptabilitv criteria. The item offered m

11、ust have been sold to the commercial market or to the Government, and the contractor shall certify and provide supporting documentation as to its serviceability and the long term (five years) availability of all necessary maintenance and logistics support parts and materials. 2 Provided by IHSNot fo

The item offered shall include the standard warranty given to the commercial market beginning with the date of delivery of the individual items. 4.4 Visual examinati

13、on. Each roll of padding shall be examined for the defects listed below. 4.4.1 Defects. Any material with thin or weak places, cotton not natural color, or material not as specified; width not as specified; any discolorations; any cuts, tears, or holes; any stitching missing loose, broken, or wrong

14、type; any permanent crease in cloth, shade bar, spot or stain; weight not as specified; label missing, illegible, or wrong legend; item not packaged as specified in the contract or purchase order, 4.5 Dimensional examination. The finished padding shall conform to the dimensions specified. Any length

15、 found to be less than the minimum specified or more than 2 yards less than the length marked on the roll ticket shall be considered a length defect. If the total of the actual lengths of the rolls is less than the total of the lengths marked on the roll tickets, the lot shall be rejected. The sampl

16、e unit shall be one yard full width of the padding. 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Preservation, isackins, and markinq.
