5、N/TC 146 “Packaging machines Safety” (Secretariat: UNI, Italy). The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Maschinenbau (Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee), Section Verpackungsmaschinen. Amendment of the European Machinery Directive has made it necessary

6、 to review the previously valid standard, EN 415-3:1999, in terms of the essential requirements of the new European Machinery Directive, 2006/42/EC. This standard contains specifications meeting the essential requirements set out in Annex I of the “Machinery Directive”, Directive 98/37/EC, (valid un

7、til 28 December 2009) and the “revised Machinery Directive”, Directive 2006/42/EC, which took effect on 29 December 2009, and which apply to form, fill and seal machines that are either first placed on the market or commissioned within the EEA. This standard serves to facilitate proof of compliance

8、with the essential requirements of the directives. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, it is deemed a “harmonized” standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive (“presumption of c

9、onformity”). The International and European Standards referred to in clause 2 of this document have been published as the corresponding DIN EN or DIN EN ISO Standards with the same number. Amendments This standard differs from DIN EN 415-3:2000-10 as follows: a) The Foreword, Introduction and Scope

10、have been revised. b) Clause 2 “Normative references” and clause 3 “Definitions” have been brought in line with the current rules of presentation. c) In subclause 5.2.3 (German version only), the external guard temperature has been added. d) In subclause 5.6.1 (German version only), some text has be

36、 of industries. They contain many hazards and have the potential to cause serious injury. The extent to which hazards are covered is indicated in the scope and clause 4 of this standard. In addition, machines should comply as appropriate with EN 292-1 and EN 292-2 for hazards which are not covered b

37、y this standard. !This document is a type C standard as stated in EN ISO 12100. The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and hazardous events are covered are indicated in the scope of this document. When provisions of this type C standard are different from those

38、 which are stated in type A or B standards, the provisions of this type C standard take precedence over the provisions of the other standards, for machines that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this type C standard.“ 1 Scope This European Standard establishes safety requir

39、ements for form, fill and seal packaging machines and the filling machines which are particularly associated with them. This group of machines is defined in detail in clause 3 of this standard, with diagrams illustrating examples of the principle of operation of each machine type. However briefly, t

40、his standard covers the following broad groups of machines: horizontal form, fill and seal machines; vertical form, fill and seal machines; pre-made bag erect fill and seal machines; mandrel flexible package or carton form, fill and seal machines; carton erect, fill and close machines; thermoform, f

41、ill and seal machines. Filling machines commonly fitted to form, fill and seal machines including: auger fillers; volumetric cup fillers; volumetric piston fillers; counters; gravimetric fillers (weighers). This standard covers the safety requirements for machine design, construction, installation,

42、commissioning, operation, adjustment, maintenance and cleaning. This part of EN 415 applies primarily to machines manufactured after the date of issue of this standard.
