3、itionDIN 58942-1:1985-09EinleitungDer Nachweis von Mikroorganismen in den Blutkul-tursystemen nach deren Beimpfung mit Patienten-blut und entsprechender Bebrtung kann erfolgen:Gbe durch mikroskopische Beurteilung;Gbe durch Subkultivierung auf geeigneten Isolie-rungsmedien;Gbe durch Subkultivierung a

4、uf einem oder mehre-ren festen Kulturmedien des Blutkultursys-tems;Gbe visuell mit geeigneten Indikatorsystemen. Die-se Methode ist nur ein zustzliches Hilfsmittelzur Erkennung bewachsener Blutkulturen undsollte nur zusammen mit einer der anderengenannten Nachweismethoden verwendetwerden;Gbe durch a

5、utomatische Detektion des Wachs-tums. Hierbei wird das Wachstum durch De-tektion von Stoffwechselaktivitten (z. B. 7、bcultivation on appropriate iso-lation media;Gbe by means of subcultivation on one or moresolid culture media of the blood culture system;Gbe visually with appropriate indicator systems.This method only serves as an additional aidfor the recognition of positive blood culturesand should only be used

8、together with one ofthe other detection methods indicated;Gbe by means of automatic detection of growth. Inthis connection growth is proven by detectionof metabolic activities (e. g. determination ofCO2, acid formation, changes of redox poten-tial or pressure) or by means of other methods.Blood cult

12、ScopeThis standard applies to ready for use blood culturesystems, i. e. to blood culture media and their con-tainers, which are used for the detection of bac-teraemia by bacteriological culture methods. Itspecifies the physical, chemical and biological re-quirements to blood culture containers and b

13、loodculture media which are necessary for the diagnos-tic application.As the blood culture systems may also be used forthe detection of septicaemia caused by fungi, indi-cations for the detection of fungi are included in thisstandard.The ready for use blood culture systems are onlysuitable for the i
