Theessentialpartofastoneshieldisthebreastguard,whichmaybeassociatedwiththeshoulderguards, thebackguardandthebicepsguards. Whenthestoneshieldsa

26、reintheformofarticulateassembliesthepartscanbeheldtogetherbydiversified joiningdevicesandcanbemadeoutofmixedsoft/hardorhardmaterials(shells).Inthelattercasetheyare fittedwithsuitablepaddingontheinnersurface,andtheiredgesareroundedtoavoidbruisingoftheskin.
