The participants included Regular Member C
2、ompanies, Associate Members and other interested parties. This document is not intended to be a consensus standard limiting the range of resistance welding products or processes in the market place. Bulletin 16 is a harmonization document created through the efforts of the RWMA to minimize random pr
3、oduct variation. This bulletin does not encompass the entire range of North American “standard“ resistance welding products. Where several variations exist in the market, the participants have formulated a standard design based on the perceived “best practice“. The new format for Bulletin 16, 3-ring
4、 binder, will allow timely revisions and updates to be made as technology advances become known. The RWMA welcomes input on any issue relating to the design, manufacture and application of resistance welding components, equipment and processes. ELECTRIC / PNEUMATIC WELDER Type of welder which uses air pressure and electric control to determine weld time and weld pressure. ELECTRODE ADAPTOR Portion of electrode holder wh
12、ich prevents electrode from slipping. May be tapered, wedged, or screwed. Threaded electrode adaptors are used to provide longer electrode holder life, by providing a changeable tip socket in holders having threaded openings. The tapered shank adaptors are used to either change the capacity of holde
13、rs have tapered tip sockets to a different electrode size, or to change the direction of the electrode. ELECTRODE FORCE ELECTRODE HOLDER FOLLOW UP FORCE TRANSDUCER The amount of effort (force) applied by electrodes to material being welded. A device for mechanically holding the electrode and conduct
14、ing current. The ability of an electrode to move at the same rate that the welding material becomes plastic. 17、 normally employed to produce increased density of weld, but may also be used to increase nugget size. Type of welder which is operated through use of a foot treadle and where weld force is dependent on the adjustment of a compression spring coupled to a push rod assembly. In most basic form, weld t
18、ime is determined by operators foot movement on foot treadle. May also have electric timing device. Distance between horns or arms. A means of driving a circular electrode of a seam welding machine in which the driving torque is transmitted to the electrode through a train of gears. Essentially cyli
19、ndrical am or extension of an arm of a resistance welding machine which transmits the electrode force and conducts the welding current. Typically used to hold electrode or electrode holder. (See Arm) See “Throat Height“ The lower arm or supporting structure in a resistance welding machine. A means o
20、f driving a circular electrode of a seam welding machine in which the driving toque is transmitted to the electrode through a friction roll. A low pressure system which allows electrodes to come in contact under low force for purpose of dressing or alignment. A platen which is moved relative to the
21、main body of the machine by an operating mechanism. The voltage between open electrodes when rated voltage is applied to transformer primary. Water return or discharge is routed to drain with individual circuits to allow visual and “feel“ of water flow and temperature. Can be used to maximize water
22、cooling and reduce waste. A member with a substantially flat surface to which dies, fixtures, backup or electrode holders are attached, and which transmits the electrode force or upsetting force in a resistance welding machine. 23、ens in a resistance welding machine. A switch that is responsive to a rise or drop in pressure, may be fluid or air.
