These certifications require documentation of experience,

3、and satisfactorycompletion of a written examination. The examination tests the CRWTs knowledge of welding processes, welding pro-cedures, destructive and nondestructive tests, welding terms, definitions, symbols, reports, safety, quality assurance andresponsibilities, machine setup, and other relate

While theAmerican Welding Society administers the process and establishes rules to promote fairness in the development ofc

9、onsensus, it does not independently test, evaluate, or verify the accuracy of any information or the soundness of anyjudgments contained in its standards. Further, given the rapid changes in the field, AWS cannot warrant that the certificationstandard will at all times reflect the most current knowl

22、ms shall be accompanied bycourse descriptions, outlines, and presenters name(s)and qualifications.6.2 Experience claims by applicants shall be documentedby one or more of the following:6.2.1 Completion of the employment verification sec-tion of the application for certification.6.2.2 Employment from

23、 present and former employ-ers indicating applicants name, job title(s), length ofemployment, company name, company address, and tele-phone number.6.2.3 Members of labor organizations and laborunions may provide a letter from their representativecontaining the information in 6.2.2 relative to the un

24、ionorganization by which they were employed, accompa-nied by certified copies of work assignment sheets,books, or records.6.2.4 Self-employed or contract applicants shall docu-ment required experience by letter(s) from clients attest-ing to the nature of work assignments during the periodof performa

25、nce required for certification.NOTE: Inadequately documented experience or educa-tion shall be a basis for denying certification.AWS QC20:201137. Examination Requirements7.1 Applicants for certification as CRWT shall berequired to meet the following written examinationrequirements:7.1.1 Applicants f

26、or certification as CRWT shall berequired to achieve a pass mark of 75% correct on thewritten examination.7.2 A closed-book, general knowledge test consisting ofa minimum of one hundred (100) multiple choice ques-tions on fundamental principles.The topics to be included and the weighting shall be as

28、.2.1 The test questions shall be taken from, andanswerable from, the references listed below:(1) RWMA Resistance Welding Manual, Revised 4thEdition(2) RWMA Bulletin #5, Resistance Welding ControlStandard(3) RWMA Bulletin #14, Maintenance Manual forResistance Welding Machines(4) RWMA Bulletin #16, Re

29、sistance Welding Equip-ment Standards(5) AWS A2.4, Standard Symbols for Welding, Braz-ing, and Nondestructive Examination7.3 Examination scoring shall be as follows:7.3.1 Applicants scoring at or above indicated passmarks shall be considered certified at such time as allother requirements are met, a

30、nd fees paid.7.3.2 Applicants who fail to meet the minimum scoremay apply for re-examination not less than thirty (30)days following notification of test results by AWS.7.3.3 Applicants may apply to be examined for certifi-cation as many times as they may choose; however, noapplicant may be examined

31、 more than three (3) times percalendar year.8. Certification8.1 Documentation. The American Welding Societyshall issue to each CRWT applicant who complies withthe requirements of Clauses 6 and 7, as applicable, a seri-alized (unique number) certificate, and wallet card statingthat the applicant has

32、met the AWS QC20 certificationrequirements. Certification shall be valid for five yearsunless revoked for reasons defined in Clause 9, Revoca-tion. The certificate shall indicate the date of certifica-tion. The wallet card shall indicate the expiration date ofcertification.8.2 Verification. The Amer

33、ican Welding Society shallrelease certification test results only to the applicant, orto a person or agency designated by the applicant CRWTupon written request, and with notarized and witnessedrelease. The exception to this requirement are members ofAmerican Welding Society staff and members and of

34、ficersof the Committee, who may request and receive access toall information relating to program participants in thenecessary pursuit of their duties on behalf of the pro-gram. Test results, in addition to those provided at thetime of examination may require payment of a nominaladministrative fee. O

35、ral requests for verification of statusand certification number of certified personnel shall beprovided to requestors without charge. Only the certifica-tion number, date certified, and current status (current,revoked, etc.) shall be provided by American WeldingSociety staff members without the expr

36、ess, writtenapproval of the certificate holder.8.3 Use and Display of Documentation8.3.1 The certificate may be displayed in the workarea or other suitable location at the discretion of the cer-tificate holder and their employer. The certificate may beduplicated for the purpose of providing objectiv

37、e evi-dence of certification upon request. The certificate maynot be altered in any way. Replacement certificates maybe requested from AWS. The original, current certificateshall be surrendered upon request to the Committee, orthe Executive Director of AWS upon a finding carryingthe penalty of revoc

38、ation against the certificate holder.8.3.2 The wallet card shall be carried by the CRWTwhen performing those tasks assigned, except when jobsafety considerations require special attire inappropriatefor carrying items not essential for the job function. TheCRWT is required to present this credential

39、upondemand of a judicial representative of the client or cus-tomer, or an assigned person charged with validating cer-tification. The card shall not be altered. The original,current card shall be surrendered upon request to theCommittee, or the Executive Director of AWS upon aAWS QC20:20114finding c

40、arrying the penalty of revocation against thecertificate holder.NOTE: Any attempt to modify the information containedon any of the documents issued to the CRWT by AWSshall be considered an attempt to defraud, and punish-able by probation, suspension, or revocation.8.4 Reciprocity. Technical societie

41、s in other countriesseeking reciprocity with the American Welding SocietyCRWT program are invited to make a proposal to theAWS Certification Committee. All such decisions by theCommittee shall be considered as final.NOTE: Reciprocity certifications shall remain in forceuntil such time as the normal

42、certification period haselapsed, or upon findings by the Committee, that theparticular program upon which the original reciprocitywas based is not being administered in conformance tothe submitted specifications, whichever period is shorter.If AWS revises the CRWT program, all technical societiescur

43、rently holding reciprocity agreements should undergoa re-evaluation to ensure compliance.Contact the AWS Certification Department for a listingof current reciprocal agreements.9. Revocation9.1 Committee. The Committee shall have the power tosuspend, refuse renewal, revoke the CRWT certificationfor m

44、isrepresentation of facts regarding personal qualifi-cations, status, assignments, etc., relating to the CRWTscertification whether such misrepresentation was made atthe time of application or on subsequent applications(renewal, etc.).9.2 Courts. The Committee may apply to any court ofcompetent juri

45、sdiction for further enforcement of itsadministrative decisions and rulings.10. ReinstatementReinstatement of a revoked certificate shall be allowedwith no penalty or prejudice to the individual providedthe reason for such revocation has been rectified to theCommittees satisfaction.11. Upgrading of

46、CertificationThe CRWT is granted at a single level, as described inAWS C1.5.12. Renewal by Recertification12.1 Responsibilities. The CRWT shall be responsiblefor:(1) Maintaining certification by submitting either:(a) A “Renewal by Recertification Application”that complies with the requirements of Cl

47、ause 6 andClause 7 postmarked by the expiration date3of the cur-rent certification, or(b) A written request for “Renewal by Recertifi-cation Application” that complies with the requirementsof Clause 6 and Clause 7 postmarked at least one calen-dar month prior to expiration of the current certificati

48、on.(2) Maintaining a current address with the AWS Cer-tification Department.412.2 Renewal by Recertification Period. The CRWTshall renew his/her certification every five years by reex-amination. The CRWT shall, upon expiration of his/hercertification, cease to be certified and may not continueto adv

49、ertise as such.12.2.1 The CRWT applying for renewal of certifica-tion that has expired will be considered as a new appli-cant, and should contact the AWS CertificationDepartment for the correct procedure.3Certification becomes effective on the first day of the monthfollowing the date of examination, and expires on the first dayof that month, five years later.
