By age four, the number of words a child understands tells us how easily that a child will learn to read in school. 29、eas in writing later on. So, how do you give your child this wonderful gift? First of all, talk a lot. Talk when youre feeding or preparing a bottle; talk when youre doing the dishes or walking down the street. Second, do a lot of listening. Even before your child can speak clearly, ask questions an

30、d listen for answers. Assume(设想 ) that your child has ideas, and try to figure out what they are. Researchers have found a direct connection between the number of words a child knows and the number of words he hears, and especially the number of questions he is invited to answer. Third, read aloud e
