1、Designation: B 3 01 (Reapproved 2007)Standard Specification forSoft or Annealed Copper Wire1This standard is issued under the fixed designation B 3; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year of originaladoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A numbe
2、r in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. A superscriptepsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval. This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the Department of Defense.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers drawn and annealed or softround
3、bare copper wire for electrical purposes (see ExplanatoryNote 1).1.2 The values stated in inch-pound or SI units are to beregarded separately as standard. Each system shall be usedindependently of the other. Combining values from the twosystems may result in non-conformance with the specification.Fo

General Requirements (see Section 7) )5.1 Tensile Strength and ElongationThe wire shall con-form to the requirements for elongation prescribed in Table 1(see Explanatory Note 2)
11、. No requirements for tensile strengthare specified. For wire whose nominal diameter is more than0.001 in. (0.025 mm) greater than a size listed in Table 1, butless than that of the next larger size, the requirements of thenext larger size shall apply.5.2 JointsNecessary joints in the completed wire

(254mm) apart upon the test specimen (see Explanatory Note 4).The elongation of wire whose nominal diameter

When the latter method is used, the zero length shallbe the distance between the jaws at the start of the tension testand be as near 10 in. (254 mm) as practicable, a
