1、A- * a A-A-50192 February 17, 1989 COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION CANDLES, ALTAR The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to type I, sizes 1 and 2 of MIL-C-40638. 1. CLASSIFICATION 1.1 Classification. The altar candles shall be of the

2、following two types: Type I - Straight sided, approximately 12 inches in length, Type II - Straight sided with self-fitted fluted base, approximately 12 inches in length. 1.2 and sizes of items is included in Section 5.2. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS Part or Identifying Number (PIN). A document-based

3、PIN to identify types 2.1 Description. composition of 51 percent or more beeswax and shall be tapered at the wick end. The wick shall be a material that burns fully without the need for trimming. The flame shall consume the candle and wick without dripping in still air, without noticeable smoke, wit

4、hout excessive wax accumulation along the shaft of the candle and without objectionable odor. 7、ons, standards, and quality assurance practices. When specific quality assurance provisions are specified for any commercial characteristic, the contractor shall furnish data resulting from inspection conducted in accordance with the specific quality assurance provisions. Government reserves the rig

8、ht to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. The 4, PACKAGING 4.1 Packaging. packaged in a telescoping paperboard box. 4.2 Packing. in a fiberboard box conforming to style RSC, type CF (variety S

9、W) or SF, grade 275 of PPP-EI-636. Each box shall be closed in accordance with the appendix of PPP-B-636. Twelve type I or twenty-four type II candles shall be Six packages (72 type I or 144 type II candles) shall be packed 4.3 Pailetization. When specified (see 5.3), altar candles, packed as specif

10、ied, shall be palletized on a four-way entry pallet in accordance with load type Ia of MIL-STD-147. IV, or type V which shall be fabricated from wood groups I, II, III, or IV of MIL-STD-731. Each prepared load shall be bonded with primary-and secondary straps in accordance with bonding means K and L

11、 or film bonding means O or P, Pallet patterns shall be in accordance with the appendix of MIL-STD-147. Pallet types shall be type I (4-way entry), type 4.4 Marking. purchase order, unit packs, shipping containers and palletized unit loads shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129. Additionally

12、, shipping containers shall bear the following legend: In addition to any special markings required by the contract or CANDLES - FRAGILE STORE IN A COOL PLACE. 5. NOTES 5.1 Intended use.
