Ordering Information3.1 Ordering documentation for valves under this specifica-tion shall include the following
8、 information, as required, todescribe the equipment adequately.3.1.1 ASTM designation and year of issue.3.1.2 Primary valve specification (see 1.1).3.1.3 End preparations, if different than specified in 4.4.3.1.4 Supplementary requirements, if any (see S1 throughS4).4. Valve Design and Construction4
9、.1 Valves shall incorporate the features specified in 4.2 4.6.4.2 Materials of ConstructionMaterial requirements shallbe as follows:4.2.1 The pressure containing/retaining envelope (includingany bolting, union nuts, or other fastening devices establishingthe integrity of the pressure containing/reta
10、ining envelope),bellows (where applicable), and end nipples, shall be nickel-copper (70-30). Internal trim which is in contact with the linemedia shall be nickel-copper (70-30), bronze, nickel-aluminum-bronze, Inconel Alloy 600, brass, or other materialswhich are compatible with oxygen service.4.2.2
11、 Non-metallic seat, seat insert, or seals. These materialsshall be selected from TFE, Reinforced TFE, CTFE, plastic inaccordance with MIL-P-46122, Polyamide (Vespel), or PEEK.The materials for O-rings and gaskets shall be compatible foroxygen service.4.2.3 LubricantsMaterials for lubricants shall be

Guidance ondesigning systems for oxygen service can be found in GuideG88.4.3 General Requirements:4.3.1 Fire PreventionValves shall be constructed to m
17、ini-mize the possibility of initiating ignition in gaseous oxygenservice. This shall be accomplished by the following:4.3.1.1 Materials for parts in contact with oxygen shall havethe highest spontaneous ignition temperatures and the lowestimpact sensitivities compatible with construction and perfor-
18、mance limitations.4.3.1.2 Surfaces in contact with oxygen shall be smoothwith well-rounded edges and without sharp or thin sectionedprotrusions (that is, all parts shall have a high ratio ofvolume-to-surface area). Sharp exterior corners are prohibited,and interior corners shall have fillets to prev
19、ent the retention orentrapment of machining chips, burrs, or foreign material.4.3.1.3 Nonmetallic materials (O-rings, gaskets, etc.) otherthan the seating insert, if applicable, shall be well removedfrom the main flow path.4.3.2 Fire ContainmentValves shall be constructed tominimize oxygen escape in
20、 the event of an internal or externalfire. This shall be accomplished by the following:4.3.2.1 Pressure-Boundary SealingJoints for the pressure-boundary seals shall provide an effective barrier to leakage inthe event of damage or consumption of the non-metallicsealing elements by providing long, clo
21、se fitting metal-to-metalleakage or flame paths.4.3.2.2 Internal SeatingThe seat design shall be such thatin the event that the non-metallic seat is damaged, destroyed, orcarried away, there will be a secondary metal-to-metal seat tominimize through seat leakage. The construction and locationof the
22、nonmetallic seals and seating inserts shall minimize thepossibility of ignition under a pressure surge.4.3.2.3 Pressure SurgeValves shall be designed to preventpressure surge, which could cause auto-ignition.4.4 Design Features:4.4.1 Manual valves shall be of the packless design, with thestem sealed
23、 by a bellows.4.4.2 ThreadsThreads shall conform to ANSI B1.1. Useof threads in contact with oxygen shall be minimized. Anythreads wetted by oxygen shall be of rolled construction orshall be completely chamfered and deburred to prevent thepossibility of sharp edges or machining burrs in contact with
24、oxygen.4.4.3 CleaningPrior to assembly and testing, valves shallbe degreased and cleaned in accordance with Practice G93, andthereafter maintained clean for oxygen service.4.5 End PreparationUnless otherwise specified (see Sec-tion 3), end preparation for the valves shall be as follows:4.5.1 Valves
