12、ion) and IEC (the International Electrotechnical Commission) form the specialized system for worldwide standardization. National bodies that are members of ISO or IEC participate in the development of International Standards through technical committees established by the respective organization to

13、deal with particular fields of technical activity. ISO and IEC technical committees collaborate in fields of mutual interest. Other international organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO and IEC, also take part in the work. In the field of information technology, ISO and

17、42-2:2013(E) Introduction The purpose of this part of ISO/IEC 29142 is to provide consistent documentation and reporting methods, for customer understanding, for the cartridge characterization test methods and provisions of ISO/IEC 29142. Specifications for notification and reporting applicable for

18、the ink and toner cartridge attribute characterization methods established in ISO/IEC 29142, and the environmental provisions established in ISO/IEC 29142-3, are given in this part of ISO/IEC 29142. Attributes characterized according to ISO/IEC 29142 standardized or specified test methods that compl

19、y with the test method requirements defined in ISO/IEC 29142-1, and environmental evaluations additionally in compliance with the provisions of ISO/IEC 29142-3, after inclusion in ISO/IEC 29142-2, Annex A, can be chosen for reporting, based on the manufacturer decision regarding the importance of th

20、e attributes and provisions to the intended customer. This part of ISO/IEC 29142 defines the documentation and reporting that are required to be used, if such an attribute is chosen to be characterized and reported. Such reported attributes and provisions do not provide for a complete cartridge attr

21、ibute characterization; however, the consistent information provided for each attribute, and the consistent testing underlying that information, enables comparison of provided provisions and attribute characterization results. 22、-2:2013Information technology Print cartridge characterization Part 2: Cartridge characterization data reporting 1 Scope This part of ISO/IEC 29142 establishes the product and package labelling, and related reporting provisions for toner and ink cartridges used in printing devices that have a digita

23、l input printing path, including multi-function devices. This part of ISO/IEC 29142 is intended for equipment used in office environments. This part of ISO/IEC 29142 defines the information requirements for the cartridge characterization documentation on packaging and cartridges, and in reports. The

24、 labels, notifications, and reports established herein are specified in accordance with the terms, symbols, notations and framework of ISO/IEC 29142-1. The cartridge characterization tests that determine the test report information of the labels, notifications, and reports established herein are sta

38、or specified cartridge characterization test and is in compliance with ISO/IEC 29142-2. 4 Essential elements of cartridge characterization customer information 4.1 Cartridge information summary Table 1 summarizes the information that is detailed below in the various label, notification, customer rep

39、orts, and cartridge attribute test report clauses. 40、 Label A d d r e s s e d i n C a r t r i d g e N ot i f i c a t i o n Environmental Responsibility A locator for an operational Cartridge Take-back program should be provided on the cartridge itself. A cartridge supplier offering an operational cartridge take-back program should include “Cartridge T

41、ake-back Information” or equiva- lent wording, along with a link to program use information. A cartridge supplier not offering an operational cartridge take-back program shall not include such an indicator or link. Performance Attributes no A customer report can contain performance attribute test re

42、sults. Physical Attributes no A customer report can contain physical attribute test results. Supplier Type The distinction of original or non- original supplier is indicated by the requirement to identify the cartridge supplier. The distinction of original or non-original sup- plier is addressed thr

43、ough the requirement to include the cartridge supplier name, and by the requirement that only a single supplier identi- fier is discoverable or readable on the cartridge, accompanying packaging and in related ISO/ IEC 29142 reports. Cartridge Condi- tion The terms Remanufactured” or “Refilled” are n

44、either required nor dis- allowed in this part of ISO/IEC 29142 and such marking should follow appli- cable regulations. In compliance with ISO/IEC 29142, the environmental impact of a cartridge shall be assessed by means of stand- ards written in accordance with ISO/ IEC 29142-3. Cartridge environme

45、ntal impact assessment shall not be based on whether the cartridge is original, non-original, remanufactured, or refilled. These cartridge conditions do not indicate the environmental impact of the cartridge suppliers manufactur- ing and/or remanufacturing processes. The terms “Remanufactured” or “R

46、efilled” are neither required nor disallowed in this part of ISO/IEC 29142 and such marking should follow applicable regulations. In compliance with ISO/IEC 29142, the environ- mental impact of a cartridge shall be assessed by means of standards written in accordance with ISO/IEC 29142-3. Cartridge

47、suppliers and collec- tors should be aware that cartridge environmen- tal assessment is not based on whether the car- tridge is original, non-original, remanufactured, or refilled. These cartridge conditions do not indi- cate the environmental impact of the cartridge suppliers manufacturing and/or r

48、emanufacturing processes. 5 Cartridge labels 5.1 Cartridge label application This part of ISO/IEC 29142 imposes NO requirements dealing with cartridge label format. In the context of this International Standard, a cartridge label is defined only as a particular set of information. 5.2 Cartridge labe

49、l location The cartridge label shall be displayed on the cartridge. The cartridge label shall also be displayed on retail cartridge packaging. The cartridge label should be displayed on bulk cartridge packaging. 5.3 Cartridge label information 5.3.1 Cartridge identific ation The cartridge label shall contain a cartridge identifier.
