9、s a single listing of the technical National Differences included in the UL adoptionof the corresponding IEC standard.In its IEC-based standards, UL uses the notations indicated below to identify national difference type, andthese types are additionally noted in this document. The standard may not u
10、se all types of thesedeviations.D1 - These are deviations which are based on basic safety principles and requirements, elimination ofwhich would compromise safety for U.S. consumers and users of products.D2 - These are deviations based on safety practices. These are deviations for IEC requirements t
11、hat maybe acceptable, but adopting the IEC requirements would require considerable retesting or redesign on themanufacturers part.DC - These are deviations based on the component standards and will not be deleted until a particularcomponent standard is harmonized with the IEC component standard.DE -
12、 These are deviations based on editorial comments or corrections.DR - These are deviations based on the national regulatory requirements.Each national difference contains a description of what the national difference entails. Typically one of thefollowing words is used to explain how the text of the
13、 national difference is to be applied to the base IECtext:Addition / Add - An addition entails adding a complete new numbered clause, subclause, table, figure,or annex. Addition is not meant to include adding select words to the base IEC text.Deletion / Delete - A deletion entails complete deletion
14、of an entire numbered clause, subclause, table,figure, or annex without any replacement text.Modification / Modify - A modification is an altering of the existing base IEC text such as the addition,replacement or deletion of certain words or the replacement of an entire clause, subclause, table, fig

17、l Code3.1.1DV DE Modification by adding the following note to 3.3.1:NOTE “Functional Earthing” is similar, but not identical to the terms “system grounding” and “function ground”in the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70 (2014-2017). Functional earthing, system grounding or functionground may be
18、applicable to PV systems but are not applicable to PV modules.4.4.1DV DR Modification by replacing 4.4.1 with the following:Class III PV modules shall not have electrical ratings greater than 240 W where the opencircuit voltage does not exceed 30 V DC and the short-circuit current does not exceed 8
19、Awhen tested under standard test conditions.4.4.3DV DR Modification by replacing 4.4.3 with the following:These PV modules are intended for installation where general user access and contact touninsulated live parts is anticipated, e.g. consumer electronics. Class III PV modules shallnot be combined
20、 in series strings operating at more than 30 V Voc and shall not have asystem voltage rating above 30 V. These PV modules are not intended for use in parallelwith other PV modules or energy sources unless the combination provides protection fromreverse current and overvoltage protection.DECEMBER 4,

22、uct is identified by the brand or trademark owned by a private labeler.Exception No. 2: The date of manufacture may be abbreviated; or may be in a nationallyaccepted conventional code or in a code affirmed by the manufacturer, provided that thecode:a) Does not repeat in less than 10 years; andb) Doe
23、s not require reference to the production records of the manufacturer to determinewhen the product was manufactured.5.2.2.1DV.2 Add the following to the end of Clause 5.2.2.1:In the US a PV module may be marked with “Fire Type:_. See Installation Instructions forInstallation Requirements to Achieve
24、a Specified System Fire Class Rating with thisProduct.A module employing a nonmetallic junction box having a threaded or unthreaded openingshall be marked For use with nonmetallic conduit systems only or the equivalent.NOTE It is recommended that the label meet the requirements of UL 969.5.2.2.2.1DV
