    9、s a single listing of the technical National Differences included in the UL adoptionof the corresponding IEC standard.In its IEC-based standards, UL uses the notations indicated below to identify national difference type, andthese types are additionally noted in this document. The standard may not u

    10、se all types of thesedeviations.D1 - These are deviations which are based on basic safety principles and requirements, elimination ofwhich would compromise safety for U.S. consumers and users of products.D2 - These are deviations based on safety practices. These are deviations for IEC requirements t

    11、hat maybe acceptable, but adopting the IEC requirements would require considerable retesting or redesign on themanufacturers part.DC - These are deviations based on the component standards and will not be deleted until a particularcomponent standard is harmonized with the IEC component standard.DE -

    12、 These are deviations based on editorial comments or corrections.DR - These are deviations based on the national regulatory requirements.Each national difference contains a description of what the national difference entails. Typically one of thefollowing words is used to explain how the text of the

    13、 national difference is to be applied to the base IECtext:Addition / Add - An addition entails adding a complete new numbered clause, subclause, table, figure,or annex. Addition is not meant to include adding select words to the base IEC text.Deletion / Delete - A deletion entails complete deletion

    14、of an entire numbered clause, subclause, table,figure, or annex without any replacement text.Modification / Modify - A modification is an altering of the existing base IEC text such as the addition,replacement or deletion of certain words or the replacement of an entire clause, subclause, table, fig

    17、l Code3.1.1DV DE Modification by adding the following note to 3.3.1:NOTE “Functional Earthing” is similar, but not identical to the terms “system grounding” and “function ground”in the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70 (2014-2017). Functional earthing, system grounding or functionground may be

    18、applicable to PV systems but are not applicable to PV modules.4.4.1DV DR Modification by replacing 4.4.1 with the following:Class III PV modules shall not have electrical ratings greater than 240 W where the opencircuit voltage does not exceed 30 V DC and the short-circuit current does not exceed 8

    19、Awhen tested under standard test conditions.4.4.3DV DR Modification by replacing 4.4.3 with the following:These PV modules are intended for installation where general user access and contact touninsulated live parts is anticipated, e.g. consumer electronics. Class III PV modules shallnot be combined

    20、 in series strings operating at more than 30 V Voc and shall not have asystem voltage rating above 30 V. These PV modules are not intended for use in parallelwith other PV modules or energy sources unless the combination provides protection fromreverse current and overvoltage protection.DECEMBER 4,

    21、2017NATIONAL DIFFERENCES FOR UL 61730-14UL COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL NOT AUTHORIZED FOR FURTHER REPRODUCTION ORDISTRIBUTION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM UL5.2.2.1DV DE Modification:5.2.2.1DV.1 Add the following to item (d):Exception No. 1: The manufacturers identification may be in a traceable code if theprod

    22、uct is identified by the brand or trademark owned by a private labeler.Exception No. 2: The date of manufacture may be abbreviated; or may be in a nationallyaccepted conventional code or in a code affirmed by the manufacturer, provided that thecode:a) Does not repeat in less than 10 years; andb) Doe

    23、s not require reference to the production records of the manufacturer to determinewhen the product was manufactured.5.2.2.1DV.2 Add the following to the end of Clause 5.2.2.1:In the US a PV module may be marked with “Fire Type:_. See Installation Instructions forInstallation Requirements to Achieve

    24、a Specified System Fire Class Rating with thisProduct.A module employing a nonmetallic junction box having a threaded or unthreaded openingshall be marked For use with nonmetallic conduit systems only or the equivalent.NOTE It is recommended that the label meet the requirements of UL 969.5.2.2.2.1DV

    25、 DE Modification by replacing the text of Clause 5.2.2.2.1 with the following:Equipment groundingA wiring terminal or bonding location of a PV module intended to accommodate a fieldinstalled equipment grounding conductor for equipment grounding shall be identified withthe appropriate symbol IEC 6041

    26、7-5017 (Figure 1). No other terminal or location shall beidentified in this manner.5.2.2.2.2DV DR Deletion:Delete Clause 5.2.2.2.25.2.3DV D2 Modification of 5.2.3 in accordance with the following: Add the following new paragraph at the end of the first paragraph: The module isconsidered to be in com

    27、pliance with this standard only when the module is mounted in themanner specified by the mounting instructions. A module with exposed conductive partsis considered to be in compliance with this standard only when it is electrically groundedin accordance with the manufacturers instructions and the re

    28、quirements of the NationalElectrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70 (2014-2017). Add the following note after the phrase “The electrical documentation shall include adetailed description of the electrical insulation wiring method to be used. This descriptionshall include:” NOTE - The first, third and fourth ite

    30、g with the following: “the bonding and groundingmethod(s) to be used (if applicable) shall be specified. All provided or specified hardwareshall be identified in the documentation;” Replace the seventh bullet about the documentation for by-pass diodes with thefollowing: the type and rating of bypass

    31、-diodes to be used as well as the installationinstructions for those diodes (if applicable).5.3.1DV DC Modification by adding the following item to the end of 5.3.1: fuseholders - any fuseholders built into the module shall comply with the relevant ULfuseholder standard.”5.3.4DV DR Modification by r

    32、eplacing the Clause with the following:Connectors shall be marked in accordance with 5.2.2. External DC connectors shall fulfilthe requirements of:1) UL 6703, or2) IEC 62852 where non-locking connectors are not authorized for use in readilyaccessible PV systems with voltages above 30 volts.5.3.5DV D

    33、2 Modification by replacing the Clause with the following:Junction boxes for PV modules shall fulfil the requirements of:1) UL 3730, or2) IEC 62790 with the following exceptions:a) The pull force used in the cord anchorage test (Sections 5.3.21.1 and5.3.21.2 in IEC 62790) shall be either the value g

    34、iven in Table 6 (of IEC62790) or 89 N, whichever is higher.b) The pull force used in the retention on mounting surface test (Section5.3.22.2 and 5.3.22.3 in IEC 62790) shall be 156 N.5.3.8.2DV DR Modification by replacing the first paragraph of the Clause with thefollowing:Terminals for electrical c

    35、onnections shall be suitable for the type and range of conductorcross-sectional areas according to specification of the manufacturer. They shall meet therequirements of UL 3730 or IEC 62790.5.5.2.3.4DV DR Modification:Delete item (c), Ignitability Test (MST 24).DECEMBER 4, 2017NATIONAL DIFFERENCES F

    37、east equivalent to a zinc coating of 0,015 mm thickness.5.6.2.1DV DR Modification by replacing the first sentence with the following:PV modules shall be constructed to provide adequate protection against accessibility tohazardous live parts ( 30 V DC).5.6.2.3DV DR Modification by replacing the secon

    38、d paragraph with the following:Any conductive part, which is not separated from parts that can operate at a potentialabove 30 V DC by at least basic insulation, is considered to be a live part. A metallicaccessible part is considered to be conductive if its surface is bare or is covered by aninsulat

    39、ing layer which does not comply with the requirements of basic insulation.5.6.4.1DV D2 Modification:Delete the paragraph that says “The distances through insulation (dti) are required forsupplementary, double or reinforced insulation only as shown in lines 4 of Tables 3 and 4(see Annex B).”5.6.4.2DV

    40、 D2 Modification by replacing the first paragraph with the following:Distances through cemented joints as listed in line 4 of Table 3 (values for distancethrough cemented joints are extracted from Table 13 of IEC 61558-1:2005) shall be used ifthe following requirements according to IEC 61730-2 are f

    41、ulfilled. Class 0 modules withcemented joints are acceptable if they meet the requirements for cemented joints for ClassII modules as specified in line 4 of Table 3:5.6.4.3DV D2 Modification by replacing the text of Clause 5.6.4.3 with the following:To ensure that the protection against electric sho

    42、ck is still provided after failure of eitherthe double or reinforced insulation the insulation test (MST 16) after cut susceptibility test(MST 12) shall be performed as for basic insulation.In the case of insulation constructed of thin layers of insulated material, the relied uponinsulation shall be

    43、 such that the following requirements are fulfilled:a) Single-layer sheet (see also Figure 4, example a) RTI / RTE / TI as defined in 5.5.2.3.3. Dielectric strength for reinforced insulation.b) Multi-layer sheets (see also Figure 4, examples for double layers b1), b2) and genericn-layers c)Each laye

    45、M UL RTI / RTE / TI as defined in 5.5.2.3.3. Dielectric strength for basic insulation.If single layers are not characterized individually the following applies: RTI / RTE / TI shall be determined in the full layer stack or each layerproviding relied upon insulation shall meet RTI / RTE / TI as defin

    46、ed in5.5.2.3.3. Any changes in the stack or application require a new RTI / RTE/ TI evaluation. Dielectric strength of entire multi-layer sheet providing relied uponinsulation shall fulfill requirements for reinforced insulation.A test procedure for dielectric strength test at the relied upon insula

    47、tion can be found in10.6 of IEC 60243-1:2013 and IEC 60243-2:2013. The DC test voltages are as follows:1000V+2times system voltage for basic insulation;2000V+4times system voltage for double or reinforced insulation.Figure 4DV D2 Modification:Delete all references to MST 04.Table 3DV D2 Modification

    48、 of Table 3 in accordance with the following: Delete the row labeled “1b) thickness of thin layers (see 5.6.4.3)”.
