SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers a corros
6、ion-resistant steel in the form of bars, wire, forgings, and forging stock. 1.2 Application These products have been used typically for heat-treated parts requiring a combination of high strength and high toughness up to 800 F (427 C) with good ductility and strength in the transverse direction, but
7、 usage is not limited to such applications. 1.2.1 Certain design, processing procedures, or environmental conditions may cause these products to become susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking; ARP1110 recommends practices to minimize such conditions. 2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Composition Shall conform to the percentages by weight shown in Table 1, determined by wet chemical methods in accordance
15、 with ASTM E 353, by spectrochemical methods, or by other analytical methods acceptable to purchaser. 17、ed in the following condition: 3.3.1 Bars, Wire, and Forgings SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS5928 Page 2 of 8_ 3.3.1.1 Rounds Hot finished, solution heat treated and turned, centerless ground, or polished. 3.3.1.2 Hexagons Hot finished, solution heat treated and descaled. 3.3.1.3 Squares and Flats Hot finishe
18、d, solution heat treated, and machined or descaled. 3.3.1.4 Wire Cold finished, solution treated and descaled. 3.3.1.5 Forgings Solution heat treated and descaled. 3.3.2 Forging Stock As ordered by the forging manufacturer. 3.4 Heat Treatment Bars, wire, and forgings shall be solution heat treated b
19、y heating to 1545 F 25 (840 C 14), holding at heat for a time commensurate with section thickness, heating equipment and procedure used, but not less than 30 minutes, and cooling as required to below 90 F (32 C). Pyrometry shall be in accordance with AMS2750. 3.5 Properties The product shall conform
20、 to the following requirements; tensile and hardness testing shall be performed in accordance with ASTM A 370. 3.5.1 Bars, Billets and Forging Stock 3.5.1.1 Macrostructure Visual examination of transverse full cross-sections from bars, billets, and forging stock, etched in hot hydrochloric acid in a
21、ccordance with ASTM A 604, shall show no pipe or cracks. Porosity, segregation, inclusions, and other imperfections for product 36 squares inches (232 cm2) and under in nominal cross-sectional area shall be no worse than the macrographs of ASTM A 604 shown in Table 2.
