5、eding AMS4485 Magnesium Alloy, Extrusions 4.0Y - 2.25Nd - 0.5Zr (WE43C - T5) Precipitation Heat Treated (Composition similar to UNS M18434) RATIONALE AMS4485A revises Composition (Table 1, 3.1.1), Properties (3.4), and Reports (4.4.1), and is a Five-Year Review and update of this specification. 1. 6、COPE 1.1 Form This specification covers a magnesium alloy in the form of extruded bars, rods, wire, tubing, and profiles from 0.039 to 4.75 inches, incl. (12.71.0 to 120.7 mm., incl.) in nominal thickness (see 8.4). 1.2 Application These extrusions have been used typically for parts requiring a comb
7、ination of light weight, high yield strength up to 480 F (250 C), relatively high corrosion resistance, and good flammability resistance for magnesium alloys,but usage is not limited to such applications. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS The issue of the following documents in effect on the date of the purch
8、ase order forms a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. The supplier may work to a subsequent revision of a document unless a specific document issue is specified. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Composition Shall conform to the percentage
13、s by weight shown in Table 1, determined by spectrochemical methods in accordance with ASTM B954, or by other analytical methods acceptible to purchaser. 15、 in Table 1, (e.g., Gadolinium, Dysprosium, Erbium, Samarium, and Ytterbium). 3.1.2 Determination not required for routine acceptance 3.2 Condition Precipitation heat treated. 3.2.1 Extrusions shall be supplied with an as-extruded surface finish. Light polishing to remove minor surface imperfections
16、 is permissible, provided such imperfections can be removed within specified dimensional tolerances. 3.3 Heat Treatment Extrusions shall be precipitation heat treated by heating to a temperature between 392 to 482 F (200 to 250 C), and holding at the selected temperature 10 F (6 C) for the proper ti
17、me for precipitation heat treatment to meet the requirements of 3.4, and air cooling. Pyrometry shall be in accordance with AMS2750.
