SCOPE:1.1 Form:This specification covers a polychloroprene (CR) rubber, resin modified, solvent-type contact adhesive in the form of a liquid.1.2 Application:This
6、adhesive has been used typically for bonding leather or polyurethane foam liners in pilots flight helmets, bonding of fabric, plastic laminate, and wood surfaces to themselves or to each other, but usage is not limited to such applications.1.3 Safety-Hazardous Materials: While the materials, methods
7、, applications, and processes described or referenced in this specification may involve the use of hazardous materials, this specification does not address the hazards which may be involved in such use. It is the sole responsibility of the user to ensure familiarity with the safe and proper use of a

TECHNICAL REQUIREMEN
13、TS: 3.1 Material: Shall consist of a polychloroprene (CR) rubber compound and a suitable resin dissolved in a solvent or solvent mixture. The product shall be free of ketones, halogenated hydrocarbons, benzene, and other solvents which have a deleterious effect on foamed polyurethanes.3.1.1 Shelf Li
14、fe: The adhesive, stored in airtight containers, shall meet the requirements of 3.2 after storage at not higher than 27 C (81 F) for up to 12 months from date of manufacture except that viscosity changes of 10% shall be acceptable.3.2 Properties: Adhesive shall conform to the requirements shown in T
15、able 1.SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS3704A Page 2 of 8_3.3 Quality: The adhesive, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, and free from foreign materials and from other contaminants detrimental to usage of the adhesive.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS: 4.1 Responsibility for Inspe
16、ction: The manufacturer of the product shall supply all samples for required tests and shall be responsible for performing all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to the requirements of th

20、NTERNATIONAL AMS3704A Page 3 of 8_4.2.2 Preproduction Tests: Tests for all technical requirements are preproduction tests and shall be performed prior to or on the first-article shipment of adhesive to a purchaser, when a change in ingredients and/or processing requires reapproval as in 4.4.2, and w
21、hen purchaser deems confirmatory testing to be required.4.2.2.1 For direct U. S. Military procurement, substantiating test data and, when requested, preproduction test material shall be submitted to the cognizant agency as directed by the procuring activity, contracting officer, or request for procu
22、rement.4.3 Sampling and Testing: Shall be as follows:4.3.1 For Acceptance Tests: Sufficient adhesive shall be taken at random from each lot to perform all required tests. The number of determinations for each requirement shall be as specified in the applicable test procedure or, if not specified the
23、rein, not less than three.4.3.1.1 A lot shall be all adhesive produced in a single production run from the same batches of raw materials and presented for manufacturers inspection at one time. A lot shall not exceed 1000 gallons (3785 L).4.3.1.2 When a statistical sampling plan has been agreed upon
