2、partments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers the material for lining the battery compartments of submarines and other compartments aboard ships with a synthetic rubber compound which is resistant to battery acid and hydrocarbon oils (see 6.1). 1.
3、2 Classification. The lining material will be the following type: Type II - Synthetic rubber which is applied in the vulcanized state by adhering it to the compartment with adhesive. Note: The Type I material which was included in previous versions of this document is obsolete and has been deleted.
