15、rst article for examination and test to prove, prior to starting production, that his production methods and choice of design detail will produce buildings which comply with the requirements of this specification. Examination and tests shall be as specified herein and shall be subject to surveillanc

16、e and approval by the Government. Upon approval of the first article, the contractor shall complete the remaining buildings to be delivered under this contract. Approval of the first article by the Government shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility to supply buildings conforming to th

17、is specification. Any changes or deviations from the approved first article shall be subject to approval of the contracting officer. After disassembly and necessary replacement and repairs have been made, the first article may be submitted as a completed production unit. 3.2 Parts and materials. Par

18、ts and materials shall be as specified herein. Materials not specified shall be of the best commercial quality, the lightest practical weight, entirely suited for the purpose, and readily available, Materials used in the building shall be capable of withstanding, with no physical damage, temperature

19、s ranging from -40 F to +120 F. and floor panels shall have a “U“ factor of 0.10 or less. No wood or timber shall be used in the building. Wall, roof 3.2.1 Metal. 21、cified herein, immediate action shall be taken by the supplier to inform the contracting officer by submission of detailed data, requesting approval of nonstandard parts and materials, 3.3 Desipn and construction. Drawing Nos. 2004282 and 2004283 indicate the major features which are to be incorpora

22、ted into the building. The contractor shall provide the additional design required to make a complete, usable, weatherproof, rapidly erected structure. The details indicated on Drawing Nos. 2004282 and 2004283 are intended as a suggested method of construction, The design, fabrication and constructi

37、n member which supports the exterior edge. 3.3.2 Panel lamination. The panels shall be laminated as follows: 3.3.2.1 Preparation of metal surfaces. The preparation of metal surfaces for adhesive bonding shall be in accordance with ASTM D2651. 3.3.2.2 Adhesive. In order to fully develop the flexural

39、ile Shear After curing in accordance with the Streng th : production procedures, the adhesive shall exhibit a minimum lap tensile strength of 2 1300 pounds-force per square ihch (lbf/in 1 after 24 hours and before 48 hours of room temperature aging when tested in accordance with ASTM D 1002 (metal t

40、o metal). Elevated Temperature The adhesive shall support an 8-pound weight Streng th : at 180 F for 15 minutes. Exposure Strength: The adhesive shall show no deterioration after being cycled six times in accordance with test procedure No. 2 of ASTM C481 or it shall be shown that the adhesive does n

41、ot deteriorate in advance of a core failure during this test when the core material complies with 3.3.1.2. Aged Strength: The adhesive shall show no evidence of embrittlement with aging and shall show no less lap tensile strengths after 30 days than was initially exhibited when subjected to identica

42、l tests. The above properties are to be considered as minimum requirements. core shall be thermal (externally applied) cure bonded to the skins. The core material shall be completely bonded without voids in the bond lines with the panel skins. The bond line must attain or exceed the full shear stren

43、gth of the core material. The 3.3.2.5 Adhesive bonding process and inspection. .The contractor shall provide a detailed description of the manufacturing and fabricating process and methods of control of manufacturing variables. On request, this description, together with an engineering report which

44、describes all tests to be performed to satisfy contract requirements, shall be made available for review by the procuring activity prior to start of production. 3.3.2.6 Panel tensile strength. A minimum of eight panels of the various configurations (floor, roof, side wall and end wall) shall be sele

45、cted at random during the production run and subjected to load test to satisfy the design requirements. 3.3.2.5, the tests of 4.5.2.4 are required to demonstrate the strength of the panels. The panels shall be capable of supporting all loads super- imposed during the testing without failure or excee

46、ding the allowable deflections of 3.3.12. The doors shall be 3 feet O inches by 6 feet 8 inches with a thickness sufficient to guarantee structural integrity, construction and good workmanship, Glazing shall conform to the glazing requirements for windows except it shall be wire glass in lieu of acrylic plastic. Doors shall be properly

48、 joined for one and one-half pairs of hinges and shall be drilled for lock sets. Each entrance door shall have a lock set with door knob and a heavy-duty spring closing device, The hardware necessary to allow locking the exterior doors utilizing padlocks shall also be furnished and applied by the co
