SCOPE i. 1.1 Scope. This sp
2、ecification covers the design and performance of two types of HF broadband, wide dynamic range solid state multicouplers. The two equipments described herein are for use at Naval communication facilities and shall provide coupling of from one to eight radio receivers to one antenna in a SO-ohm syste
3、m. # 1.2 Classification. Multicouplers covered by this specification shall be of the following types as specified: Type I - High linearity Type II - High linearity; phase correlated 2. REQUIFSMENTS 3.1 First article sample. Prior to beginning production, a sample shall be tested as specified in 4.3 (see 6.
11、3). 3,2 General. The equipment shall be in accordance with the provisions of Types I and II multicouplers shall MIL-E-16400 to the extent specified herein. be designed for Naval shore fixed plant use and shall provide optimum coupling between a single antenna and eight receivers in communication sys

The multicouplers shall be complete, including power supply in one unit, and shall contain all necessary parts and circuitry to provide the specified performance when connected to the specified source. Those requirements specified herein which do not refer to a specific type of multicoupler sh
13、all apply to both types. Those requirements which refer to a specific type of multicoupler shall apply to only that type. 3.2.1 Equipment composition. The multicoupler shall contain all parts, including semiconductor devices, as necessary to its performance, in accordance with the requirements of th

15、ables - # 3.2.2 Design and construction. The design and construction of the equip- ment shall be predicated upon the use of modular assemblies conforming to the requirements of MIL-E-16400. of construction if the predicted mean-time-between-failure (MTBF) exceeds 100,000 hours (see 3.3.1). The equipment and all items entering into its construc- tion shall be designed for both intermittent and continuous operation, in con- formance with the performance requirements of this specification, under adverse conditions normally encountered in the N
18、aval communications services ashore. 3.2.4 Material. Material entering into the manufacture of the equipment shall be in accordance with MIL-E-16400, except as otherwise specified herein. These materials shall have magnetic characteristic in accordance with MIL-E- 16400. Particular attention shall b

Blown fuse indicators, conforming to the requirements of MIL-F-19207, shall be provided for each active fuse. 3.2.12 Enclosure, The equipment housing shall conform to the requirements of NIL-STD-108 for a totally enclosed enclosure. 3.2.13 External finish.
