SCOPE i. 1.1 Scope. This sp

2、ecification covers the design and performance of two types of HF broadband, wide dynamic range solid state multicouplers. The two equipments described herein are for use at Naval communication facilities and shall provide coupling of from one to eight radio receivers to one antenna in a SO-ohm syste

3、m. # 1.2 Classification. Multicouplers covered by this specification shall be of the following types as specified: Type I - High linearity Type II - High linearity; phase correlated 2. REQUIFSMENTS 3.1 First article sample. Prior to beginning production, a sample shall be tested as specified in 4.3 (see 6.

11、3). 3,2 General. The multicoupler shall contain all parts, including semiconductor devices, as necessary to its performance, in accordance with the requirements of th

The design and construction of the equip- ment shall be predicated upon the use of modular assemblies conforming to the requirements of MIL-E-16400. of construction if the predicted mean-time-between-failure (MTBF) exceeds 100,000 hours (see 3.3.1). 18、aval communications services ashore. 3.2.4 Material. Material entering into the manufacture of the equipment shall be in accordance with MIL-E-16400, except as otherwise specified herein. These materials shall have magnetic characteristic in accordance with MIL-E- 16400. Particular attention shall b

Blown fuse indicators, conforming to the requirements of MIL-F-19207, shall be provided for each active fuse. 3.2.12 Enclosure, The equipment housing shall conform to the requirements of NIL-STD-108 for a totally enclosed enclosure. 3.2.13 External finish. 25、he external finish shall be in accordance with MIL-E-16400. 3.2.14 Control knobs. Control knobs shall conform to the requirements of MIL-E-16400. The equipment shall be designed to achieve a minimum mean-time-between-failure (MTBF) of 31,500 hours for the type I configuration and 34,000 hours for the type II configuration. For demons

37、tration purposes, the specified MTBF (eo as defined in MIL-STD-781) shall be 15,000 hours for the type 1 and type II configurations. a 3.3.2 Maintainability. The coupler group shall have a mean corrective maintenance time (Wct) not exceeding 30 minutes when repair is accomplished at the organization

38、al level of maintenance by replacement of lowest sub-assemblies (including modules and p.c. boards) and chassis-mounted parts (electronic, elec- trical, electromechanical and mechanical parts), Repairable subassemblies (modules and p.c. boards) shall have a mean corrective maintenance time (Mct) not

39、 exceeding 1.5 hours when repair is accomplished by replacement of individual parts at the appropriate level of maintenance, Corrective maintenance time shall include localization, isolation, disassembly, interchange, reassembly, alignment and checkout for all maintenance tasks. 3.4 Erivironmental c

40、haracteristics. The equipment shall have the following environmental characteristics. 3.4.1 Temperature, The multicoupler equipment shall be designed to conform to the temperature requirements for Range 3 temperature of MIL-E-16400, design shall be in accordance with MIL-E-16400. The equipment shall provide continuous reliable performance in relative humidities ranging up to 95 percent for both continuous and intermittent periods, including condit

42、ions wherein condensation takes place in and on the equipment in the form of both water and frost. 3.4.3 Shock. The equipment shall not show evidence of physical damage and shall operate in accordance with the performance requirements specified herein after being subjected to the shock testing speci

43、fied in 4.4.2.4. 3.4.4 Altitudes. The equipment shall be capable of transportation by air- craft and common carrier, and shall be capable of operating at altitudes up to 10,000 feet (3048 meters) above sea level. 3.5 Electrical performance. The multicoupler shall be designed and con- structed to pro

44、vide the performance specified herein under any possible combina- tion of conditions specified herein. Specific test procedures specified in Section 4 shall apply as pertinent to the particular performance requirement invo IV ed . 3.5.1 Antenna input, The antenna input circuit shall be designed for

45、a 50-ohm unbalanced input system. 3.5.2 Number of outputs, The antenna coupler shall provide facilities for the operation of up to eight radio receiving sets from a single antenna (that is eight output connectors) 3.5.3 Output impedance, Each of the eight output connectors shall be de- signed for op

46、eration with an unbalanced coaxial transmission line having a nomi- nal impedance of 50-ohms. /I 3.5.4 Voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR). The voltage standing wave ratio shall not exceed 1.5:l to either the input transmission line when terminated with a 50-ohm signai source, or the transmission lin

47、e for any of the eight outputs when terminated with 50-ohm loads. This requirement shall apply for the input and any given output for any combination of terminations of the other connectors. 3.5.5 Frequency range. The nominal operating frequency range of the com- plete antenna receiving multicoupler

48、 equipment shall be from 2.0 megaHertz (MHz) to 32 MHz with the input filter in the circuit. With the input filter bypassed, the multicoupler shall be able to operate at all frequencies from 0.3 to 2.0 MHz and conform to all other requirements specified herein. 3.5.6 Primary power source. The comple

49、te multicoupler shall comply with the performance requirements of this specification when operated from a power source of 105/115/125 volts I10 percent or 210/230/250 volts +lo percent, 50 to 60 Hertz k5 percent, single phase alternating current (AC). It shall also com- ply with voltage and frequency power transients in accordance with MIL-E-16400. 3.5.6.1 Taps. Taps shall be provided on the primary winding of the power transformer for the voltages specified in 3.5.6. for 115 volts
