5、 the Company under the name “Navistar Steering Gear Lubricant”. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the CEMS B-50 specification. 3.0 CONTENTS PAGE SCOPE 1 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS

12、 oil replacement diluted with a well refined oil (not residual) free from water or sediment. 7.1 Additives Other additives may be present in order to meet the detailed requirements specified herein, and will remain uniformly distributed throughout the oil at all temperatures from pour point to 250 F

13、 (121 C). The material will not be artificially colored and will be satisfactory for use as a steering gear lubricant. 7.2 Qualification Production material can be furnished under this specification only after formal qualification. When requested by the Purchasing Department, the supplier will furni

14、sh samples to Materials Engineering, TDTC, for engineering qualification which includes approval by controlling engineering departments, including performance tests as required. Material submitted for qualification will be accompanied by detailed test information and also by certification that the m

15、aterial meets all requirements of this specification. 8.0 METHODS OF TEST CEMS BT test methods are available from IHS Global Inc., 15 Inverness Way East, Englewood, CO 80112 (Telephone No. 1-800-854-7179). ASTM Test Methods are available from ASTM, 100 Bar Harbor Drive, West Conshohocken, PA 19428.

17、 2011 Page 3 of 4 9.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 9.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to Navistar, Inc. are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. Navistar will also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Productio

18、n Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Navistar Corporate Buyer upon request. 9.2 Approval Material supplied against contracts or purchase

19、 orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color,

20、 or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify Materials Engineering, TDTC, and Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety

21、Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change. 9.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence

22、 of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the plant metallurgist and/or the quality control manager of the using Navistar plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific

23、 products. 10.0 DESIGNATION ON DRAWINGS and PURCHASE ORDERS Steering Gear Lubricant per CEMS B-4 11.0 PACKING, SHIPPING AND IDENTIFICATION When delivered in bulk quantities, the container in which the material is shipped will be marked clearly with the following information: designation, name of sup

24、plier, formula number or code and batch number. The markings will be at least 1 inch (25mm) high. 11.1 Retail Packaging When packaged in small containers for retail sale, the containers used will be approved by the Parts Marketing Division of the Navistar Parts Marketing Operation at Warrenville, Il

25、linois. Individual cans will be identified with the manufacturer and date, as instructed by the Purchasing and Supplier Development Group.
