3、elecommunication equipment installed between telecommunication centres and between a telecommunication centre and the customers premises. Overvoltages or overcurrents covered by this Recommendation include surges due to lightning on or near the line plant, short-term induction from adjacent a.c. pow
4、er lines or railway systems, earth potential rise due to power faults, direct contact between telecommunication lines and power lines and electrostatic discharges. Major changes compared with the 2013 version of this Recommendation include: adding test requirements for UTP Ethernet; adding test requ
5、irements for STP Ethernet; adding test requirements for PoE; adding STP shield testing. 8、 K.45 (06/2016) FOREWORD The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is the United Nations specialized agency in the field of telecommunications, information and communication technologies (ICTs). The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of ITU. ITU-T is resp
9、onsible for studying technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommunications on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA), which meets every four years, establishes the topics for study by the
10、ITU-T study groups which, in turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. The approval of ITU-T Recommendations is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSA Resolution 1. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborat
11、ive basis with ISO and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation, the expression “Administration“ is used for conciseness to indicate both a telecommunication administration and a recognized operating agency. Compliance with this Recommendation is voluntary. However, the Recommendation may contain certain ma
12、ndatory provisions (to ensure, e.g., interoperability or applicability) and compliance with the Recommendation is achieved when all of these mandatory provisions are met. The words “shall“ or some other obligatory language such as “must“ and the negative equivalents are used to express requirements.
13、 The use of such words does not suggest that compliance with the Recommendation is required of any party. 18、ments and test procedures for telecommunication equipment installed between telecommunication centres and between a telecommunication centre and the customers premises. Equipment which is attached to or installed within the customers premises is outside the scope of this Recommendation. ITU-T K.44,
19、covering basic test methods and test circuits, is an integral part of this Recommendation. It should be read in conjunction with ITU-T K.11 and ITU-T K.39 (technical and general economic aspects of protection). 2 References The following ITU-T Recommendations and other references contain provisions
