ITU-T G.729.1 (2006)/Amd.5 (12/2008) i Recommendation ITU-T G.729.1 G.729-based embedded variable bit-rate coder: An 8-32 kbit/s scalable wideband coder bitstream interoperable with G.
9、729 Amendment 5 New Annex D (Reference floating-point implementation for G.729.1 Annex C DTX/CNG) and corrections to the main body and Annex B Summary New Annex D introduced by Amendment 5 provides an alternative implementation using floating point arithmetic of the discontinuous transmission (DTX)
10、and comfort noise generation (CNG) of Annex C which uses fixed-point arithmetic. Besides this new annex, Amendment 5 to Recommendation ITU-T G.729.1 incorporates changes needed to correct defects identified in the G.729.1 C source code for its main body and Annex B, and provides a revised set of tes
11、t vectors. The corrections bring changes necessary to the existing C code (Release 1.3) of the main body and Annex B of Recommendation ITU-T G.729.1. The corrected C code is labelled as Release 1.4. For completeness, the electronic attachment to this amendment comprises: 1) Complete ANSI C source co
12、de (version 1.4) for G.729.1 main body and Annex B, including updated test vectors. 2) G.729.1 Annex D floating-point DTX/CNG ANSI C source code (version 1.4). ITU-T G.729.1 (2006)/Amd.5 (12/2008) FOREWORD The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is the United Nations specialized agency in the field of telecommunicati
14、ons, information and communication technologies (ICTs). The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of ITU. ITU-T is responsible for studying technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommunication
15、s on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA), which meets every four years, establishes the topics for study by the ITU-T study groups which, in turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. The approval of ITU-T Recommendations is covered by the procedure lai
16、d down in WTSA Resolution 1. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with ISO and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation, the expression “Administration“ is used for conciseness to indicate both a telecommunica
17、tion administration and a recognized operating agency. Compliance with this Recommendation is voluntary. However, the Recommendation may contain certain mandatory provisions (to ensure e.g. interoperability or applicability) and compliance with the Recommendation is achieved when all of these mandat
18、ory provisions are met. The words “shall“ or some other obligatory language such as “must“ and the negative equivalents are used to express requirements. The use of such words does not suggest that compliance with the Recommendation is required of any party. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS ITU draws at
